    Smash Lab commercial

This has been bothering me, I've seen the commercial twice and both times it looks like an e21 or e30 getting busted up in the promo. Was hoping someone had a sharper eye.

Click on the video in the lower right of this page.

about 20 seconds in you see the ass end of a car in a collision. Maybe I'm crazy but I always have a look out for these cars on tv.

          e21 has a steeper-sloped c-pillar than the picture
          EDIT:
          also, e21 c-pillar is 'fatter'

double EDIT: although the tail-lights looks a little too slim

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the commercial. I did see the sneak preview of the show last firday night and it was a good show. However it was not the show with the bmw in it.

              Sigh... it's NOT an E30. It's an E21.

actually the internet scuttlebutt is that the show sucks and is a poor spin-off of mythbusters. I did hear they blew up a truck with rhinoliner and it kept the bed alive.

I'll watch it though, I flip between discovery, pbs, history, spike, and comedy channel. I'm old and boring. I couldn't tell you what number A&E or USA is if I tried. My GF however and her addiction to the myriad shows of CSI, Law & Order, Monk, Cold Case, House flipping BS, Matlock, Murder she commited and others -- that girl knows the cable box better than our nine year old.

They should have given all the money for the production to Myth Busters. The show really looks to be stretching for reasons to blow stuff up.

I can't imagine what they are going to talk about for 20 minuets before they actually show something interesting - not real science that's for sure.

I'm looking forward to another season of "The Deadliest Catch" ...

                    George is spot on...
They showed the first episode once already.
It did suck. Less science and more guessing.
Plus they only used something like 12 pounds of explosives when in reality car bombs are more like 200 pounds of explosives.
The explosion of the truck with Rhino lining seriously looked like the charge was placed closer to the cab than the first charge (on the rear axle).
There are way more variables than in Mythbusters. And they don't try to real them in and test them. They have an outcome in mind and strive for that.
It's no fun when you see through their testing.
I can say with serious confidence that the way they tested Rhino lining would never actually work in real life.
I hope they do better in the next show...I wont keep my hopes up after seeing the first one though.

That hardbody never had a chance. Jamie and Adam have it though. It's ok for a followup type show.

Ya, I agree with Joshh. Their explanations for test results were mostly handwaving with barely any scientific analysis.

I am supposed to believe painting the interior and exterior of the building with Rhino liner will somehow damp a shock wave from a bomb? BS.
