Southern Oregon is a pretty temperate place but it can get pretty warm in the summer.

Roseville is a suburb near Sacramento, you're only about 2 hours away from the Bay Area and the snow is only about an hour and a bit more away. Just take highway 80 straight to boreal, sugar bowl, or northstar.

Roseville has cookie cutter style houses but its pretty nice and expanding very rapidly, Lincoln which is next to roseville has had major growth too. I think this year Elk grove beat out roseville in growth.

Sacramento(Natomas area) has similar houses to roseville but the neighborhood is definitely not as nice, crime is pretty high as most of the owners rent out the homes. You can tell the neighborhood isnt that great when 24 hour restaurants decide to close at 11PM.

I hear it never rains in San Diego or goes over 80 degrees. someone verify...

Honestly one of the things I dont like about Sacramento is that you dont see a drop of precipitation between may and november. Many like it, but I like showers from time to time.

Cali is pretty sweet... houses in Sacramento are about the same price as here in Hawaii (as in extremely expensive) but as far as car modding goes, it's about the bottom choice you could have.

I cruised through oregon a bit and it was pretty chill, more my style but I prefer a slow pace.

Cali got some hunnies though, definately.

Did you think about Florida? Two coasts, one state.

Sacramento is fine. Just like any other city... if you are looking for trouble you will find it.
We lived off Del Paso 5 miles north of the city and NEVER had a problem.
Coming from Atlanta, Sacramento seemed tame. You could rent a nice 2 bedroom house in DT sac for 1200 bucks and have a great time. Plus you'd be an hour from south tahoe and an hour and a half from SF. roseville and "Natomas" were nice but not for us. Too cookie cutter, traffic was hell goin in and out, WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE. Pittsburg, CA was cool. Kinda in the middle of nowhere but cool. My favorite was Davis. College town much like Athens, Ga. Close to the cities (SF and Sac), lots of cool pubs/ bars. Access to fun drives and things to do on the weekends. Bay area and Sac also have great BMW guys and girls. I met lots of cool Bimmer people out there a few of which I still talk to on a regular basis.
PM me if you need more info.

i agree with this. Coming from Georgai it was weird, and it is hot as hell (literally) in the summer. That said you can drive to Tahoe or Sf and it will be cooler. We would leave at 9am on a Saturday with temps already ar 90+ and head out to Sf or the coast for the day and not sweat at all. But to live in Sac you need A/C in your car.
