    Advice on European travel

I need some suggestions on how to get from Frankfurt Germany to Brussels Belgium on Jan 26 and returning Jan 30.

Maybe I just suck at using the internet, but I can't find any way that is not really expensive. The train is about $150 each, renting a car is about $250-$350, and I can't find any flights between the two.

If you can help out at all, i would really appreciate it.

there are no penny flights from there, it's too close.

are you traveling alone? if you have 3 or more people you can get a group rate on DB trains for like 50 euro i think it is. obviously this won't do u much good once in belgium.

i would rent the cheapest fiat rental you can find. $300 for the weekend isn't bad.

brussels is nice, they like americans there!

what are you considering cheap? its quite a long distance. I dont think your going to get a better price than the DB.(train)
why wouldnt you just fly into brussels?

Take a train. Get drunk. I've never had a bad rail ride in Europe. More comfortable and less boring than flying or driving.

Thanks a lot for looking that up for me. It would have been perfect, except that my girlfriend's sister doesn't arrive in Frankfurt until an hour after the flight leaves to Brussels.
We ended up just booking a rental car.

Well, it's an interesting trip. I'm flying to Iceland then Frankfurt with the girlfriend, so I think I'll be in Germany for a few days from the 17th through the 21st. Then I'm heading back to CA, and she is staying in Germany until her sister meets up with her in Frankfurt, where they will get a rental car and drive up to Brussels for a few days. Her sister is taking the rental car back to Frankfurt then flying home, while my girl is continuing on to London, then Tokyo.

Well, I looked up the prices for the train and it looks like it is going to cost about $150 each person. So, the rental car is going to cost about the same.

Ohh, and to Mike and Eric, I'm not sure where in Germany either of you live, so let me know if you are near Frankfurt and want to grab a beer or something.

You'll still be there while I'm in Germany, but it looks like you are about 2.5 hrs away from Frankfurt right?

meh, done it in the M5 in an hour 15 with 4 passed out drunks in the car about to miss their flight!

I start school on the 28th so i'll probably leave a few days earlier so i'm not totally jet lagged.

I can't wait to go to target, wallmart, a mall, applebees, a steak house, home depot, kragen, napa. oh man it's gonna be great!
