BTW I hope that you guys understand that the original question had nothing to do with bashing NJ. It is just strange that most movies portray that state the same depressing way. All I know from NJ is the Pallissade Parkway on my way to 95 South on my trips to Florida. All I see is highways, and refineries. I also usually get lost on my way back around Fort Lee... I always miss the exit that leads to Pallissade North and then I-87... Stupid me.

I remember being in New Jersey in April, and everything was grey, dark, nasty, wet, dirty, just a plain depressing overall mood. That same day I hopped on a plane and flew out to Kansas. Everything was green, happy, joyfull, the sky was blue, the clouds were white, the birds were chirping and the animals were out frolicking around having a cheery time.

Sure there are good/bad places up there. I lived in Elmwood Park, just across the river from Patterson. I went to school in Upper Saddle River. My grandmother lived in Chester, and I would drive all around and up into New York. My overall take of the state is just its over crowded, too many people, too many stupid highways that make no sense as to why the hell they were there and shitty roads. I can also say the people have a different mentality of the rest of the world up there, too. I held a door open for a woman and her kids, and as I waited for her to approach the open door, she stuck her arm out and stopped her kids and told them "don't get any closer". She just stopped a few feet from the door as if I was going to jump out and kill them.

Midwest=FTW. And Minnesota is pretty cool during the summer, haven't really spent any winters up there but I'm sure its equally fun. California is fun year round tho!

I think youre views on new jersey are extremely ignorant. Patterson is known as being the worst town in the state. I'm sure i could find some equally shitty towns in KANSAS

So wait.... Upper Saddle River is crappy? Elmwood Park and Chester are crappy? That makes no sense at all. People up north do have a different mentality, it is populated up there, and yes, there are alot of highways (metro area). Nj gets a bad rap though IMO. I love going back to see my family, I love that absolutly NOTHING has changed about Saddle River, Allendale, Wykoff, Ramsey, Ho Ho Kus, and Ridgewood. I wish I could say the same for my wife whose hometown is in Clayton co. Ga.

theres a whole big world out there
Thanks for the info BLUNT. I'm glad you could explain that to an individual that has been to 48 of the 50 states, and logged a million skymiles by the time he was 30.

have you ever ventured out of atlanta? theres a whole big world out there. get a fare saver ticket from greyhound and see some of it. this settles it all right here....
how many times has wayzata minnesota been featured on COPS?
how many times has atlanta georgia been featured on COPS?
the shirtless ratio is infinitely higher in atlanta than wayzata . end of story, your response will not be considered.
                  eat a calculated dick
Is Wayzata the real upscale town that has the downtown area right on the lake, with a nice road that goes all the way around the lake? If It is the place I'm thinking about, then it's honestly one of the nicest places I have been to in this country. Even if its not the place I'm thinking of, Minnesota is alot fucking nicer than atlanta, unless you are into dog fighting.

                    Yeah.... totally.
If you're referring to Mike Vick (which you are) he wasn't fighting dogs in Atlanta dumbass. He was fighting them in Virginia.
I am axctually offended at your statement, and it takes alot to offend me. Atlanta actually has some of the friendliest dog laws in the country. I speak for everyone I know here when I say that the Vick deal pissed all of us off to no end. You keep talking out of your ass so we can see just how ignorant you can be. Sorry to ruin this thread btw, but Assout, very rarely do I read such a misinformed comment. You obviously know nothing about Atlanta.
Oh, my dog who sleeps all day.

Can't you tell how much we fight him?

not only was vick fighting dogs in virginia - he went to virginia tech. his only affiliation with atlanta is through the football team who drafted him. He would have done the same thing if he was in seattle probably. his actions are not a reflection upon atlanta - but virginia culture.

Thank you, I would say it is indicative of the "gangster ghetto" culture.
Dog fighting is prevelent from Sothern cali to florida, all the way up the coast.... it even happens in Kansas!
I KNOW, can you believe it!

The part about dog fighting was a joke referring to Whoopi Goldberg's comment that all black people in the south fight dogs.

yes thats the town. im going to invite delatlanta up here for the weekend so he can see what gods country is all about. minneapolis is a shithole just like atlanta is but obviously all cities have nice areas. you can find ghettos in every state. i just like to bait delatlanta.

and as far as what minnesota brings to the table? i guess it depends on what you like. its one of the cleanest states in the country and top rated for literacy in the nation. beautiful lakes.. summer is great. but winter is cold. but i look at that as time to refresh your car. i would like to be able to drive sweet cars all year round. thats a definite drawback
