Picked up an e24 a couple of weeks ago

135,000 original miles, maintenance records dating back to 1990, beautiful interior, paint is about an 8 out of 10 (a few cracks in the base coat), car runs fantastic. Only bummer is it's an auto, but it is still a big fun cruiser. Finally got a chance to wash it and clay it today and put some E38 basketweaves on it. Not bad for $2700.

Sexy time. Now it just needs a manual swap and turbo.

Gorgeous e24! I used to have a Bronzit, they're great cars.

leave it auto and turbo, full boost, never vacuum.

L6? I know a bunch of the later e24's had all the L6 options since a lot of it was just laying around at the factory. Nice score.

its an 87 635csi. apparently 87 was the only year of the L6, but this one is just a csi.
i am currently cursing the german engineer who came up with the oil filter placement on the m30. it works fine in an e28 but is all fucked up with the e24 chassis.

why dont you just have your mechanic deal with it?

Had an 85 635csi...138k 5-speed, definately a fun car to drive but a bit heavy. Yeah the oil filter placement sucks on those. 635csi > L6 btw. If you hit up the bigcoupegroup there is a ton of info on them as well. Those babies take a lot of maint.
