    online and on the road

So, I am on my way to West Virginia for a little skiing fun. This little device that plugs into the USB of my puter allows me to get on the intersweb.

Let me send a shout out to Verizon and Mac for hooking me up!

Congrats. If you've got a phone with data capabilities, you can also do that through bluetooth. No need for that USB crap.

Snowshoe and Wintergreen arn't bad, you'll have fun.

My last trek to West Va. (Wintergreen) was a pain in the ass. The snowboarding was great but I managed to lose the keys to my girlfriends Explorer, and ended up paying through the nose for it. IIRC, the lodge on the mountain is $116 a night late in the season, for the "most modestly priced" room they have.

I heard wintergreen was good, and snow shoe is one of the best. We are going to Winter Place.

We have two condos because there are quite a few people going

Sprint, verizon, ATT. Im still on XP, Vista is like OSX. There just isnt enough stuff out there to justify having it.

I went with sprint because I am on a special "friends" plan that is stupid cheap for the EVDOrA unlimited plan.

Its the hardware. Many professional computers have cellular built in as an option. My dell has a card inside that is like a cellphone and has a prewired antenna going up the side of the monitor so it gets reception when my phone doesnt.

Sony, Dell, Lenovo, ect. Most of the higher end versions have it as an option. I am surprised its something apple hasnt jumped on since they want to be high end but their stuff has never been all that user friendly. Its very popular for professionals because of the security. My company wont let me access the NAS and Exchange servers (I concur being IT nerd) without a secure VPN. Using cellular internet instead of Wifi is like having dial up, its a direct connection and CDMA is secure (in 90% of the nation).

                          Form over function.
