Goto boat dealers until you find what you are looking for. Once you find it you either right a check, pay cash or finance it with the dealer finance sources or your bank. Pretty much the same as buying anything else.

Wasn't trying to be sarcastic there

That is a big purchase good luck with your new found hobby !!

Yea, the dealer will have info. I'd go to the dealer, see what he has. I'd also check out the local Yacht Club. They will most likely have a bulletin board full of private party ads.

Before you even look at a boat look for a place to moor your boat close to you at a reasonable cost. Here in the mediteranean a place to put your boat has almost become impossible. Also, set aside a huge budget for repair, and lastly know 1 thing about boat ownership the happiest day fora boat owner is the day you buy it and the day you sell it.

          ^^what he said.
Boat = a big hole in the water for you to put your money in.

p.s. I would also recommend all of the support stuff as well (storage, towing, maintenance, insurance, registraion, etc.)

That is true but the times you spend out there on the really nice days are priceless.

You should buy a home first, or an exige.

I have an 18' SeaRay, so not really in the same league you're talking about. However, I just wanted to impart some wisdom my Dad told me when I bought mine.

"The two happiest days in a boat owner's life are the day they buy it and the day they sell it." :D

my grand father and father just purchased a 50' Chris Craft Constellation have the boat surveyed...similar to what you would have someone do if you were buying a home they go over the entire boat...i think its around $500 but its worth it. we bought a 30' Sea Ray back about 4 years ago...and had no probs....but the boat was also out of the water...and its a lot smaller...the CC on the other hand had 3 bath rooms...thats a lot of pluming that could be fucked...hahaha
