Hi guys. Promoting the downloading of pirated software on a public forum is in the best interested of yourselves as well as those who run the forums. GG

Give me a break. Downloading torrents for Top Gear is continually promoted around here (yes, by the people who run the forum) without anyone giving a rat's ass. How's that any different?

And digitalwave beat me to it. If you happen to be in school, that's the way to go. It's dirt cheap. You can even get student versions of AutoCAD and Solid Works and shit like that. Or, you can have a friend that works at Microsoft buy it with his discount for you.

qft, mininova.com. You don't have to use it, but it's certainly available and people here can show you the door...you choose if you want to walk through it.

School is the best way. Its worth it to be able to get updates, and pirated versions often are noticed by Microsoft. You have to have the Genuine Authenticity Tool now a days before MS will even let you get updates. Authentic is best. Other brands of software though, fuck it.

FYI, when you get it loaded back, I'd copy the OFFICE10-12 folder in c:\program files\Microsoft Office and put it on a flash drive so you can transport it and save your copy. Make sure you export the registry entries for the software though.

While I dont concur that MS blows openoffice is a great alternative if you cant get the discount and are not familiar with the pirate bay. It may not have the ability to work with ActiveSync or Exchange it is still pretty good, works just like MS Office.

It doesn't matter if they promote it, its not a good idea. There's a reason most places ban people for suggesting illegal software downloads. Top gear is a mild exception since the producers really don't give a shit for the most part, its a british show.

Suggesting people use public trackers to download software and other media publicly on the internet is in general, a bad idea. Keep it to PM's and save everyone the headache.
