    New E30= First Ticket Ever

So after a week of having my 325i I have now received my first speeding ticket ever:(. After owning a lot of jeeps over the past few years, which are like driving cinder blocks down the road, My E30 is the first car in a while that has some decent power. I was on my way to work around 3am and was stopped by the state patrol. He got me for going 50 in a 40 which comes out to $80. Nothing really big but it still sucks. Im currently 32 and never had a ticket. Guess it was a good thing he did not catch me on the highway because i probably would have been going a lot faster. I can't blame anyone but myself lol. I did frame the Ticket when i got home:D

They gave you a ticket for only 10 over? That sucks.

My best yet is talking my way out of a 90 in a 50.

I agree Nice job on staying out of the way of the cops. I would have thought that he would have given you a break though, because of all the great driving you have done in the past.

I got my first one on a full license today, 51 in a 35. $170 and a court appearance later, hopefully no points on my record. I'll find out March 13th. :)

edit: Haha, only a R3V guy would think this was funny. My '88 with diving boards is noted as a '91 on the ticket. It doesn't have plastic bumpers, idiot!

Just make sure you contest the ticket so as to not get a point on your license, that way your insurance doesn't go up. You'll pay the same price (they usually lower the fee but add court costs), but no points.

Admit guilt but with a reason (something to that effect), and when you talk to the judge you say that you admit you were speeding, but don't want the points. Usually the judge knows this is why you came and he'll remove the point.

I think the judge would be quite understanding seeing your squeaky clean driving record too. And at 3 am, I bet the guy was looking for drunkies. I'm surprised he actually ticketed you.
