    Need a cell phone...

So in a fit of rage earlier I tore the piece shit Samsung slider phone I have in half, felt good, but now I need a new phone.

Here is the problem. I'm under contract with Tmobile until Sept and its either $150-200 to break the contract.

I've thought about switching carriers anyway, but my minutes/test message plan won't be matched anywhere as mine is an old plan they don't offer anymore and is still under the corporate discount from my last job.

I'd like a good smart phone.

What do I do? What phone would you guys suggest?

If you don't want to shell out a ton of money, get a nokia with the latest Symbian OS. I have a n75 which is pretty nice, but it has one HUGE flaw. Theres no way to lock the front music buttons, which results in my phone playing music in my pocket ALL THE TIME.

Depending on where in your contract you are, you can get an upgrade discount through them. Call them and ask. I would suggest getting insurance this time around as well. It covers anything from it being abducted to tearing it in half in a fit of rage. Also, don't forget they have technical troubleshooting and phones are under a 1 year mfg warranty.

Yeah, my old phone is out of the 1yr warranty.

Guess tomorrow I'll just go get a new phone from Tmobile.

That makes me feel better, I almost bought the curve today, but was hesitant, I don't "need" a smart phone but I want one............guess I'll just see what happens!!

shoot me your addy and i am guessing $5-$10 (for shipping) when it gets to you (what ever it costs to ship it to you) in an envelope or a late (91) intake elbow and we'll call it even. how's that?

                    greg

btw i have several so i'll send them all including the accessories.

I have a Curve as well. Best T-Mobile smartphone for sure unless you are a windows head and/or need to touch the screen. Only negative IMO is no video...

I like the T-Mobile dash. It plays mp3s, movies, wi-fi innernetz, nice camera, and I put a Nintendo emulator on it with hundreds of games. Expandable sd micro card slot also.

^Wow thanks for the support guys.

I was just beyond infruriated today to realize that even though I have been with Tmobile for nearly 5 years, that they would give a new phone to a new customer cheaper than me and that was with me signing a 2 year extension.

So even though technically, adding a two year extension would still leave me at 30 months commited to them a new person would still get the same phone I was looking at for close $200 cheaper (was looking at the Tmobile Pearl, as I just can't imagine carrying around a phone the size of the curve).

Der affe, I'm PMing you my addy, thanks for the help!

                              Curve 107 x 60 x 15.5 mm / Pearl 107 x 50 x 14.5 mm

What was the discount price? $267? What was it for the Pearl? Depending on what all you plan on using, the Curve is going to be alot more bang for the buck!
