I guess my first photo shoot... I have thick skin... Prolly no 56K

So the reason for the "shoot". My fiancee and I are getting married June 14th after dating since 8th grade. I know so cute haha. Shortly after we will be in the market for a home. We are looking at new townhomes and single family as well as current homes. Everything is wide open as it stands right now but this was our first stop. The models opened this weekend and Jenny had signed us up for one of the first viewers :) So I decided perfect chance to mess with the camera.

I will say again I have thick skin. I don't really know what I am doing and so I did my best. I am learning and I think some of the shots improved. I am using photobucket until I find someplace to host or I think I am going to maybe get a server and start a small little site with pics/blogs. I dunno. Anywho tell me what I did wrong and maybe something I did right if it exist.

Canon Rebel XTi with Kit Lens(18-55). Mostly on Av settings and a little "No Flash".

These are from the floor plan we like and it was furnished.

Best part is this will be office, downstairs, has full bath AND the 2 car garage is RIGHT out the door!

We really liked the kitchen colors in the non-furnished model.

Nice pics, nice place. I wouldn't mind living there. The only advice I have is to not shoot into the light from a darker place.

Nice place and congrats! I'm going to start a similar thread soon. The girlfriend and I just got a place as well.

This happened on every forum. We didn't buy one yet. We might... Just the first place we went and looked at.

        Carry on!

Awesome looking places! How much does something like that run in Atlanta?

The only thing I can add for the photos is the xti is somewhat known for underexposing and the on camera flash is erratic as all hell...good first few shots nonetheless. Also make sure you always keep an eye on your white balance.

Good luck with the house hunting and new cam.

Thanks for the tips. Where would I change this white balance? Should I use the custom settings and set it by taking a picture of white before I take the shots?

Looks quite nice. But I would never buy a town home. After I graduated, my mom sold our house and moved in to a town house, and while it's really nice inside, there is no yard, you're connected to the neighbors and the tiny ass garage is depressing. Plus, $850,000 for a 1400 sq. ft. house seems outrageous to me.

But that's just me. If you're looking for one, I'm guessing it will suit you and the girl well. Congrats and good luck.

The garage is a 2 car. If you took the space on either side of your cars it would be a 3 car :)

                  Quite large!

It is just an option. Nothing is set in stone.

man, My wife and I have been looking for 8 months. We've seen such pieces of shit, and i also had to tell my realtor that it had to have a 2 car garage and 3/2. finally found one that we should be closing this week. Just be patient and get something you can stay in for awhile til the market comes back. if i could i would wait more because prices are dropping every day here but we are staying for quite a while.

nice pics BTW, and i love that kitchen

The white balance can be set up to your specific needs via the menu or you can select a predetermined wb by pressing the down arrow the is marked "wb". There are a bunch of selections you can make depending on the shot you are taking.

I always change it depending on the lighting...take a bunch of shots of the same thing with different wb and you'll see the change.

And I still think that a town home is bitchin...all of the fun of a home and none of the work/upkeep.

Some neighborhoods with single family have them. Most places in my area of Georgia have communities of houses that have a pool, clubhouse etc so they will have the same association fee. If it is something you are using then I don't have a problem paying for it. Means it is a benefit to me to sell the house later if the entrance looks nice and the pool area is perfect.

I demand Garage PICS!!!!!!!!! This is how you shop of a dwelling, the garage/shop must be grater than or equal to no less than 1 and 1/2 times the size of living area.

JK looks like a real nice place. And that 2 car will not have cars in it, they will be in the drive way an the garage will be full of junk.

Edit: HOA's suck ass, try and stay away form them. Nothing like everyone else around telling you what you can an cant do, on an sometimes in your own home.
