    Who drifts their E30?

I wonder if theres more then me and the 3 other guys I know... I'm trying to gather all the E30 drift related tech info into one place. So I registered E30drifter.com

Im running a Spec E30 suspension setup and it just doesnt want to cut it.

Thats cause spec e30 has way to many limitations.

What problems are you having? can you be a little more specific?

Tons of body roll. transitions from one drift to another are just so harsh that at decent speeds I wind up spinning out.

      Im thinking Jstock...

        Harsh transitions
        Besides proper driver control...
You're running too low in the rear causing too much negative camber in the rear. With too much negative camber the tire grip changes from next-to-nothing contact patch to full patch back to next-to-nothing patch.

Here is a list of solutions ranked by cool factor:
        - MORE POWER!
        - Stiffer rear springs
        - Camber correction kits for the rear trailing arms
        - Raise the rear

        Too much body roll
Stiffer springs and thicker sway bars.

Well the transitions werent as much of a problem until I went turbo. I feel like im pushing the weight around so much more violently that the suspension cant keep up.

More throttle on transitions make for smoother transitions. The more you lift, the more it shifts.

Sounds like your issue has been covered, but in answer to your title...I do.

btw I think my body roll problems were solved more by bigger rim diameter and less tire sidewall. It's hard to make transitions on a 70 width sidewall >_<

I do quite a bit of drifting, however i have a S13 nissan.

If youre having problems with your transitions its probably a matter of diff or alignment. what are your current settings and how much range do you have? I know when i was having tons of transition problems it was due to rear toe.

more power will always help but isnt necessary. Hachis drift pretty well w/ only ~85whp its just a matter of getting up speed and clutch kicking the hell out of it.

as for other e30 drifters, i know a friend of mine plans to drift his M30 swapped E30, so hell probably have some insight for you soon as well.
Now look, I am not evil. My loan officer said so.

Unless you were seriously rubbing, then I find a hard time seeing how bigger wheels and less sidewall solve transitions. It sure as hell doesn't explain to me the body roll as it's not part of the chassis that's putting weight on the springs.

Yea. I 'm thinking of poly trailing arm bushings. I still have my stock worn out ones. Positive toe anyone?

@Erick: I haven't tried my new setup yet so I can't tell you what solved my problem since I haven't solved it yet. But I was feeling more in car body roll than outward looking body roll ya know? I think the tires were flexing and the car was leaning towards one side.

Sidewall flex all varies on the particular tire and not really tire size. Otherwise F1 cars would be running rubber band tires and spece30s would be on 225/35/15s

yes but you have to admit the 185/65/14s werent doing much for me and pumping 50psi of air into them can only make them so rigid.
