E30 M3 in GTR2

hey guys, i know a couple of you out here have this game and have the e30 m3 mod - did you get it with the alfavsbmw mod?

i just installed this game mod and have been playing around with it. it's so damn fun, but the car is making this weird thumping/clacking sound, totally ruins the m3 experience for me... you guys had this? what'd you do? ...if it was a real life sound it would sound like the hood/trunk is not secured and is bouncing around or like you had something rolling around in the trunk or something - anyone know the audio file that's to blame so i can just hunt the bugger down and delete it?


Edit: it's definately only making that irritating sound under lateral-g's + load

The sounds & overall physics of the converted version for GTR2 are pretty weak, just pick up Race07 for 20 bucks, it's where the files were taken from. Little better graphics, better sound.

I had the same problems with GTR2 and the e30. Honestly, I haven't driven the regular e30 in a few months. I built an e30 in the game with the s62 from the morgan, the 6 speed from the morgan, gave it some e46 m3 gtr tires, and gave it the handling of the e90 320si... It's much more fun to drive, and smoother too.

how difficult is it to skin the car? - i'd love to rock a Hennarot - just new to this 3d stuff ...and i've found a tutorial download, but i've used up my alloted bandwidth for the day picking up new tracks, etc. and have to wait 8 more hours till i get reset or find the info elsewhere

I did make a henna... Now that I've perfected the car mechanically, I'm going to make a bunch of different colors. As of now, I've only got the Alpine White car in my folder. Eventually (hopefully soon) I'll have a Henna, D-Schwarz, Zinno, Schwarz, Lachsilber, and hell maybe even a few non-stock colors. Here's a version of the first henna I made, It's not too accurate color wise, but Henna is a hard one to nail. I made a much better one (darker) but I don't have a pic of it.



But the car is finally done... I sent you a PM with the links LEAN. Let me know how you like it!

Got the PM! Thanks man! i can't wait to download it and try it out ....i'm currently waiting on the McLarenF1 to finish downloading right now, the host server is SOOO slow it's rediculous, seriously. i've downloaded alot of mods and cars in the past 24hours, and this one it taking the longest BY FAR, even longer than a 30+ car pack took.

GOT IT WORKING!

sweet ! nice car man, definately runs better than the regualr M3s! faster too... or maybe i'm just getting better? lol - after about 4 keyboard laps on Laguna my best was 1:36.689 (grid of 30)...and they really weren't that pretty to say the least, but not bad considering my previous key-board best with the original M3 was something int he ballpark of a 42-3..... i'm gonna mess with the settings a little and see what i can do!

and that ANNOYING sound? i'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a backfire noise... i think i'm gonna maybe look into doing an M3-backfire noise mod sometime this weekend... maybe make a whole exhaust sound mod, sorta a "Stock, Sport, Straightpipe, and Titanium" ? ...i think i just found a valid excuse to sit and watch countless hours of YouTube clips and vintage DTM race videos!! ;)

Nice! So do you have the exact location to drop the folder? Or what were you doing wrong? I have a couple people that want it and I've turned them down for a few hours until I get home... but if it's workin'....


With the wheel I can run a 1:25 on laguna seca... but I've driven it hundreds of times. Your world will change when you get that wheel... Be prepared to stay at home for a while. hahaha.

file locations:

i'm not sure if your suggested location for the settings worked or not, the car was really bouncy when i first tried it out, just went into the setup and bumped the shocks up a few notches the fast more than slows, handles pretty damn good... need to tweet some alignment maybe for faster/slower tracks and definately the sways a little but all in all it's gravy to do your own setups.

your file directory should be structured like this - atleast mine works this way -

"...GTR2\GameData\Teams\BMWvsALFA\BMW e30 Teams\Go Humans"



and the files "...Modded e30s\Xtrac_091.grb" and "...Modded e30s\morgansounds.aud"

goes here "...GTR2\GameData\Teams\BMWvsALFA\BMW e30 Teams"

I've also got GTR2 and love it. Was messing around with installing mods and playing F3000 on Race07 but then SAE and school stole all my free time. :(

Out of curiosity, do any of you guys use MoTeC to evaluate setups and do driver training?

Also, where do you all dl stuff from? I know about nogripracing.com, and gtr4u.de, but any others?

-e30 m3 (all stock colors, some different) M5 engine, reworked suspension, about 10 cars
