Obama obviously doesn't know the difference between a plan and what one wants to do.
That is what h wants to do and none of it is a plan.
I want to see how he's going to do all of that. That would be a plan.

    My "plan" is world peace......derrrrr.

it's a long read at 64 pages... I've only gotten through part of it with any detailed analysis.

I kinda glanced over it for a few minutes. I still can't believe he wants to raise the minimum wage more and more every year.

    *sigh*

I need to win the lottery, so inflation won't hurt me so bad. LOL

Good link. I never had seen that, and I love facts straight from the mule, so to speak. Now to go get a mug o' tea & get to laughing. Thanks!

I have a friend that owns a small company that employs illegals. Every so often INS shows up and raids the place. Those days also have a high rate of people calling in sick. What happens is the ones that want to go back to Mexico call INS and "tip" them off. INS gives them a free bus ride to the Mexican border. The ones that don't want to go back right then call in sick.
Can you imagine the logistics of rounding up 12 million people and sending them to the Mexican border? It's just not going to happen.

I couldn't be happier that Nader is back in the race. Damn, this guy is a nut-job. Here are his stances on the issues:

    Hope he does well!

It should be a slam dunk; but it's not playing out that way. Their candidates are too busy knocking each other down - not campaigning on their policies and strengths.

With legal immigration, we are taking in good people (for the most part) that believe in the dream and strive for the opportunities that the US presents. This is generally good except for the fact that most of the rest of the world has a breeding problem and needs to learn about birth control.

Many of the illegals that come here do so to make money... by dragging crack across the borders and by tending pot plantations. Many are just plain looking for easier pickings from "rich" Americans. If you look at the prison population, the number of illegals in jail is a much higher percentage than their overall population here dictates. That is your proof. And no, they are not being held because they are illegal. They are being held for murder, rape, drug trafficking... all the really bad stuff.

There are plenty that come across for work and to send money back home to their families. I respect that fortitude. However, it does not change the fact that they are a huge problem. They drive without licenses and insurance. They drive horribly maintained rolling junk piles that are accidents waiting to happen. If you just have liability on your car and one of them hits you... well, you just lost your car and you will get no money back to buy a new one. It happened to a friend of mine.

The other part of this is these people are not Americans. They don't believe in the American dream. They want our money and then they want to go back to Mexico... or worse, they want to turn wherever they live into Mexico. They don't make an attempt to meld into the great melting pot one little bit. This guarantees their perpetual alienation from everybody else. When their kids get to our schools, we even teach them in Spanish so they never have to learn English again guaranteeing that they will never prosper or fit in here. Do you really want to allow America to be torn apart like that?

My kids are 1/4 Hispanic. My ex is 1/2. Her Mom is a wonderful person who is a mixture of the best of Hispanic culture and US culture. Her Grandmother is a sweet thing that made the best tortillas ever. I am saying all this to indicate that I don't have racial bias against Hispanic people. I have a bias against people who are here that don't want to be Americans.

And Mexico calls the walls and our attempts to keep them out racism. When what the Mexican government really wants is for their welfare and crime problem to go to America. If Mexico would take care of its own and build a real economy we wouldn't be having this problem.
    - You are correct about the rest of the world needing to work in their birth control methods. In the more eastern european nations - abortion is pretty much the prefered method of birth control. There simply needs to be better education, and more widely distributed birth control methods to help control these problems. In Africa, or worse-off areas of South America - there is also a problem of population growth thanks to lack of birth control methods. This could be something that the UN should get more involved with (if it isn't already) to help these countries control their populations.

    - I don't disagree with you that there is a dis-proportional number of people who are illegal and in jail for heineous offenses. However, to suggest that the majority of them are drug mules is pretty harsh and skewed. High crime/out of control birth rates/etc. are generally signs of a group of people/country that is not educated and is not being shown a better alternative. These are the bad things that are going to be brought into the country by migrant workers; particularly the ones that are illegal. Sad as it is to say, there is undeniable statistical proof about which groups of people inside this country commit the vast majority of crimes.

    - That makes a great case for amnesty. These people get better wages to afford certain things that they currently are not purchasing - and we get to TAX their income. e.g. less money is leaving the country. It also becomes easier to track criminal activity, and ascertain who repeat offenders are.

    - By and large, you are completely accurate regarding these people not truly "integrating" into society. However, this is becomming less of an issue IMO. That will take place over time as they begin to have better social standing in this nation.

This is a tough topic - but I still think the initial solution is to lock down the border, and grant amnesty. I believe that most of these people want to better their lives, and they work hard. Once they are citizens, we can see what impact that has on the sub-culture and how it integrates into the general US pop.

You must not have the folks getting turned loose because INS will not pick them up after they are released from the local charge, funny it happens everywhere else but Texas, yeah right.
