FunCup Car - its little, its light, and its FUN

Thursday night got a call with an invite to cover this car, one catch, gotta drive to Willow Springs the next day (5hr drive). So Friday morning me and my buddy, the journalist to cover the story , head down to the track to cover. Here is the story, Budget Bug: Grassroots racing reborn with the Fun Cup. When we finished up with the on track shooting and my buddy ripped around the track for a bit, I got to jump in a drivers suit and take the car out for some hot laps. Quick, fun, and extremely predictable little car.

Some of my favs from the set that can be found in the above article..

My buddy picked up my cam when I was out running some laps..

That is sweet. I've always had a thing for track bugs.

I have seen that thing live in action at dubfest last year. Very very tail happy. He actually spun out and broke a piece of the fiber glass body.

Yeah, cool little cars. I saw these a few months or a year ago or so at the main website-
Discover the thrill of endurance racing in the UK with Fun Cup. 36 hours+ of endurance racing in equal machinery. Arrive & Drive's. £10,000 cash prize available.

They dont list the tire size as far as I can tell, but its a 2000cc VW Golf engine.

From what I can tell in the pics, it seems the trailing arm front and swing axle rear suspensions of the normal beetles have been replaced by macpherson/chapman strut setups, respectively. It's probably quite planted.

It's probably pretty similar to a super beetle, not a type 1.
