Pelican vs KO Performance

Erick sat on the phone for a long time with me today and found every opportunity he could to give me the best deal. I was pleased. Looking forward to the parts. -
Dont care for Pelican, tried them several times, rude service, delayed shipment... KO on the other hand... Called them yesterday, Erick got on the phone and asked how can we help then offered to make calls to track down parts... not only that but the price is better. 10-15% price diff is nothing in my opinion when paired with great service... the good part is KO has both...Leave a comment:

^^eh, i dont agree. i like SSF for most parts b/c their distribution office is 5 min from my house and i can will call all my emergency parts, for everything else i go KO then BMA in that order.Leave a comment:

For any part company, I would consider prices as a deciding factor, but would also consider service. Are shipping delays respected? Can you get a better shipping if you are rushed? Does the supplier go out of its way if you are really in deep s..t?
There are a lot of very good suppliers out there. Too bad we usually only mention the bad ones.Leave a comment:

I've worked with some of the other vendors, and thus far Patrick just goes above and beyond on just about everything.
I love it, I can email him just a part number, and it arrives on my doorstep very shortly.Leave a comment:

Thanks for the support guys.
I personally never had any issues with BMA when I ordered as a regular customer, and I try to help as much as I can. If someone has a lower price and I can beat it, then by all means I'll do it.
Also, forum members helped me when I personally was in need, so I am happy to return the favor to the e30 crowd.
Yup. If anyone has the time to read all the drama... then by all means do it. But I suggest you read it entirely.

Do some research on 318ti.org about KO performance and their supercharger kit...Leave a comment:

patrick at BMA is above all. (dont bother with the web site, just email pat).
they can get IE goods as well. matter of fact, any problems ive had with IE stuff, ive carried through BMA and its gotten me 100% satisfaction on communication and parts replacement.
ive ordered through pelican too, nice guys but i couldnt be more sitisfied with BMA.
My only gripe is when their suppliers give them a hard time and it makes backorders get a little confusing. Its not always BMA's fault, but the interns they have working for them isnt the greatest of ideas.Leave a comment:

I actually have found better pricing at autohaus.az. Ordered a few times and always got better deals on what I was looking for. Their inventory isnt as large as KO or Pelican, but worth checking out. I think I'll start supporting KO though in the future just because.Leave a comment:

werd. In the grand scheme of things, I think it's better to support the enthusiast. Not that BMA, BavAuto, Pelican Parts or any of those guys are better/worse... I just like that he's one of us.
However, that can be abused. I've seen a couple threads here about people whining about how he didn't call them back IMMEDIATELY. They've gotten squashed pretty quick. Come on guys, he has to work, pay the bills, surf the forum, blah blah. I'd cut him some slack.Leave a comment:

KO is extremely accommodating. Plus they have access to ireland engineering parts for cheaper.Leave a comment:

Pelican vs KO Performance
So this doesn't really qualify as transaction feedback, so I thought it would belong here. Got a mid size order of parts I need for rear end refresh. These are pretty basic parts, and if I could get BMA's or FCP groton's websites to find all these parts, I'd include them. I suppose BavAuto too, but the first thing I went to was 20$ more expensive.
I like pelican parts, been good to me in the past and ship from the west coast, but I wanted to see what the hype was about KO performance. So here's the comparo. Everyday part order, nothing trick or special, just the nickle and dime crap that bleeds e30 owners dry. Surprisingly similar in price, with a slight edge to KO. Plus since we all like erick, I'll pull the trigger in a bit (after he PM's me a discount code for some free advertising, hint hint).
