Bunch of Co-workers went out to Oskosh this year. They had a great time and the warbird turn out was decent. Guy that belongs to our local flying club just purchased a P51 not sure which model but when I see it I will get some photos of it.

No Pics yet....It's actually a 185 (I originally thought it was an 85)

I think he's flying it sometime soon up to my place. We are suppose to take it out camping this fall and there are guaranteed to be a bunch of pics when that happens

                Cabriolet,

Thanks for sharing the pics of my old girlfriend, 909. I was part of the restoration/flight crew about 22 years ago. We fabricated the top turret from a set of original blueprints. I remember installing the complete top turret assembly. It was a blistering hot ass day in Kissimmee Fl. At that point in time the airport had NO FENCE surrounding it.

It was not unusual to have passerby's come onto the field to have a look at this beauty. On one occasion we had removed the 50s for cleaning and re-spray. As we walked across the ramp a tourist asked what we were doing. To which we replied, "Quail hunting." I don't think they caught the joke.

I remember flying up to Memphis to help dedicate the Memphis Belle. Just over Talledega we loss the chevron packing on #2. Oil spewed over the cowling. We feathered and ended up landing hard at Talledega. So hard the ELT went off.

That night we were guest at a local motel while the newest crew member slept in the plane to ward off any souvenir hunters. When we returned the next morning he looked as if he had the plaque. Apparently there are some big dam mosquitoes at the airport. And, he smelled bad. 100% humidity, sweat and 100LL will do that to you.

Anyway, thanks again for the pics. I miss her.

Did anyone else see this? Didn't even make CNN. 40 people killed. Odd - but the news is full of other stories right now. So maybe it didn't make the cut.

An Iran-140 Sepahan Air passenger plane bound for Tabas in northeast Iran crashes in Tehran's Mehrabad airport, at least killing 38 people.

Yeah old Antonov crashed, Iran has been held under embargo so long, their airplanes are garbage.

I think all but the SR-71B are still at Edwards. The SR had its wings clipped and was shipped to Kalamazoo Michigan http://www.airzoo.org/index.php
