How to run PC program on Mac

OK, I've been up and down on this subject, trying to research how to run an old PC game on my new Macbook. I've looked for PC emulators, but so far have had no luck finding one for a good price (i.e. free). And I don't want to pony up for a copy of Leopard and a copy of XP/Vista to do thew whole boot camp thing. So, how else can I run Age of Empires 2 on my Mac ?

parallels ....i have it right now...i just got the computer 3 weeks ago....so everything is new ....it runs every PC program no prob
