    My First PCB

Just etched my first circuit board tonight and thought I'd share some pics:

They didn't turn out absolutely perfect, but damn near close. Nothing that is a problem anyway. I might patch a few spots with solder, but other then that, the are golden. I still need to drill the holes of course and cut it out (it's actually 2 of the same board).

The little "Hi" thing at the top was a test piece done with Sharpie. The other was done with toner from a laser printer.

That's gonna be pretty cool. Make sure to give us updates as you progress along.

Drill all the holes and cut the boards out today:

As I said before, they aren't perfect, but they will work fine. And given that these are the first ones I've made, I know I could do better if I did it again. Which I will be doing as I need to make another board for the other half of the tail light.

And just for fun, this is the drill I was using:

Tiny little bastard. 0.030". Managed not to break one though (I had a spare just in case). It was too small to fit in my drill press, so I put it in my Dremel, strapped the Dremel to the chuck of the drill press and used it that way. Worked great.

LED's and resistors are in the mail and I should have them soon.

What do you mean the spacing looks odd?

I ordered extra LED's (bought a pack of 100) and am planning to use them on a Mag-Lite LED conversion. Should be interesting.
