Please help me w/ IE explorer

Okay, this has been getting annoying. I downloaded IE 7 a while ago. You might be familiar with this screen for when you first use the new IE:

Anyway, it get stuck on that "Applying Settings" screen. Clicking on the yellow (!) in the status bar gives me this:

    and this:

Any thoughts on how to fix this? I'm able to go to my homepage and otherwise navigate the web, but everytime I open IE i'm greeted with this, and i'm sick of it!

+1, but add "Ditch Windows and get Linux" to the list of things you need to do. GOD I love Ubuntu.

Weird. I'd uninstall IE and start over if I was in love with IE.

Quick fix? Download firefox and run that instead of IE.

Lots of pages work better with it and some only work with FireFox.

I guess some pages may only work with IE but I have yet to run into one that does.

I've never been to a web site that IE didn't support, and Firefox did. I still consider FF a bandaid fix for people that have fucked up their IE. Though, FF has gotten a lot better over the years.

the problem i just had was my own stupid fault, but i fixed it now. I've never had a problem with IE. How would a page "work better?" Either it loads, or doesn't load. I don't even have any spyware or virus protection and i haven't run into problems or had any slowdowns.

The reason FF is better is because it's customizable. Adblock Plus is worth running FF alone. Don't like an image? Right click and it's gone forever. And a free subscription to a database of advertising websites blocked automatically so banner ads and the like are virtually non-existent.

                        And that's just for starters.

Wtf are you guys talking about?

Firefox is better because its support of visual basic scripts is minimal. VB scripting is the best way to utilize and find exploits in Windows. It requires less resources to run and paved the way for tabbed browsing. There is also much more support for add ons with Firefox because of the security of the browser.

And what does Exchange have anything to do with IE TJ?

Besides, the only reason why Internet Explorer exists is because Netscape was becoming too popular.

Both IE and firefox can be good, safe browsers. It's just that Firefox is a bit more noob friendly IMHO.
