    LED Tail's

No, not for an e30, for my MG. I had posted before about the circuit boards I made. Well, I got them assembled with LED's and Resistors:

8mm 75,000mcd white LED's. There are 13 of them for the turn signal and 28 of them for the tail/stop lights. Let me tell you, these are BRIGHT. Gave my girlfriend a migraine on accident by flashing them in her eyes (oops).

I'm going to be sealing them with electrical grade epoxy so water and vibration won't be an issue. Should have them mounted up and functioning within a week or two. Need to order a few components before I can complete them.

You do know if these work out well you're being commissioned to build an E30 set, right?

Does it really take that many LEDs?

do you really think that is going to look good in a classic looking MG? cool work, but i think you should get an alluminum adjustable honda wing, and angle eyes as your next mod to that car if you keep those.
        sorry.

your right, The car should stay in the 70's with old tailights and get rear ended.
have you ever seen a 6v bug tail light? its like a key chain light. I think its a great idea! not rice not anything, good idea so that you will be seen. especially in a classic like that, and I guarantee his MG buds will ask where he got those.

(BTW) I know its not a 6v system, but i could emagine that its not all that bright.

My 1600 is 6v. The lights are dim as fuck.

Any update on how this turned out? Looks like it would be really trick. I started an e30 LED tail conversion but ran into my first snag... :(

Also where'd u pick up your 75,000mcd LEDs? I can only find 45,000 8mm jobs. TIA

Come on Mike, don't you think that's a little extreme? It's not like he's going to have clear lenses over them.

Haven't had a chance to work on these much more. Between waiting for parts to arrive to me and school, this project is on hold at the moment. It's on my to-do list though.

I got the LED's off of eBay. They are cheap Chinese made ones, but they are all right. They are white LED's my the way.

And as far as being too modern, I'm modernizing the whole car in spots, so they will go along with the rest of the stuff I'm doing. I'm not trying to restore the car to stock.
