Just Picked up a New Canon Today!! WOOO HOO

After spending many a year with a point and shoot, I finally decided to pick up a DSLR. It's a Canon EOS 400d. All I can say is WOW, it's like night and day. It was a hard choice between this one and the Nikon. I chose the Canon because it just seems more user friendly. Now I just need to get Photoshop

I'm eyeing the pentax dslr that came out this month, vibration reduction in the body so you can use any pentax lens from 30 years and still get VR. Should save some money on lens' that way. Plus it has an o-ring'd body for weather protection.

Welcome.. Be sure and read the manual thoroughly, and generally keep in "P" instead of auto (the green square).

When you get a little more into it def. upgrade the lens, it will make even more of a difference in image quality. I always recommend the Canon EF-S 17-85 IS to people for its versatility as a walk around. The "nifty fifty" (50mm 1.8 II) is a really sharp lens that lets in a lot of light for cheap, also very good for learning composition.
