karting (as in go-karting) you have to weigh both kart and driver. Being that most of the drivers cut their teeth in karts - this really can't be a shock to them.

It's actually better for heavy drivers as they can lighten their cars since their weight is now come into play. Wouldn't make Danica slower, just everyone else faster.

lol, my god... the IRL is like the last frigging league to actually weigh the driver as part of the car. Everybody else does it. The IRL is just dizzy from going round in circles so much and about 20 years behind the times.

They should have done this years ago when they didn't have any light weights to complain about it.

And the weight does matter. Even 20 pounds can mean a tenth of two over a lap. In IRL, that can be huge. Danica needs to shut up and concentrate on winning. She isn't a bad driver, but her temper and attitude need to be kept in check.

Because the rules said that all cars without the driver in them must be no lighter than what is specified.

Then, when you add the driver, she gets an advantage because she is so small.
