just to ask whats the history of the dog? Did you raise it or did you find him/her at a pound? Just as humans adapt to their surroundings, dogs do too. Just because the breed is a pitbull doesn't mean its born with an instinct to fight, its something that is taught or the actions of the dog are not put in line and taught a lesson. I'm not talking about beating the dog or anything like that, just trained in a manner it will learn.

on the other side I guess some dogs are more agreeable and social then others, and if the dog is not social its just exponential that dog will not get along with other dogs because it can't get the opportunity because every time it starts fights you take it away from the interaction with the dog.

When my dogs pass away I'm am so heart broken and think I won't get another like him/her. I know you will keep him/her in memory and things will work out. cute dogs BTW

Sad to see her go. I remember this thread first time around, sad situation and all, sounds like she's a fun dog. Not saying that sarcasticly BTW. Atleast you will be able to know she's in good shape and taken care of.

we've had her since she was young... We probably could have had her interact with other dogs more often but we did somewhat. She was very people-friendly but animal aggressive. She had been with Garota since she was young but Garota had already been with us for a year or so. Their fights were just a matter of two bitches living in the same apartment. Territorial type of bullshit. It never went away and these fights were really bad.

We had no choice. As a matter of fact, this should have been done a while ago but everything has its time. She will now be with family and in a country that doesn't profile dog breeds.

I will, I am missing her though. The lady is depressed. She had to drive her to her cousin's alone as I was in class.

So sorry man. I can't imagine life without The Dude. That said, at least she's in good hands. If you need to move her and you think she would get along with The Dude, PM me. He's a 9yr old Staffy who sleeps constantly.

damn, I really appreciate that! The lady is taking it really hard. She went to sleep on purpose... She's the one that brought her into the house. China was her bro's dog and for whatever reasons he needed us to keep her for a while. Needless to say, she became part of the family but... all that other shit that's been mentioned. I'm sure she will enjoy Mexico. She'll be running around way more often, will be eating leftover fajita meat, and getting laid, although we sent instructions to not get her preggers until a little later on in life... if not at all.

I miss her bad already. I'm just happy that she won't be going to the "ignored backyard by-herself" type of life.

How much do dogs remember? What's their memory like? I know they dream (she did alot). I'm sure she will adapt. I know I might sound pretty animal-emo but damn!

EDIT: random fact, Ernest Hemingway called animal-lovers/activists animalarians. (recently finished a paper on him)

Man, just finished the thread. Sorry to hear that she's leaving you.

If I would have been you in the first circumstance, my foot would have been hitting the back of the head of that ladies dog. Any loose dogs start shit with mine, and it's done.

true and I am a hot tempered type of guy but all I wanted to do was preserve the atmosphere. This was/is one of the places where myself and my dogs (forgive the grammar; I'm not going to place my dogs before me for the sake of grammar) alike went to relax. My frustration is the ignorance of certain peoples. I let my dogs off the leash but every few seconds, or at any sign of them wondering too much, I call them back to me. All this while fairly scanning for others.

I had no idea that the end result was possible.

It seems alot of people here live outside the city. Dallas is huge. I live in the city so all I can do is look/find those parks that are tucked away.

Sorry about your dog :( all this dogs are evil shit seems to be fairly recent, I was been bit by at least 3 dogs as a kid, that's just what dogs do when you provoke them, it's still an animal, you can't talk sense into a dog, it has instincts. My old dog used to get in fights with other dogs too, she never started it, but for some reason other dogs didn't like her much. I don't even see what the big deal is, if they're close and they fight, that's no one's but the owners(BOTH of them) fault for letting it happen, don't fuck with the dog. And if a dog bites a person, it's usually not even a serious injury, just the equivalent of a small cut.

Sure if a loose dog hurts someone or something, I could see a possibility for some sort of punishment, but if a competent person can punch another person in the face with no real consequences, how can we punish and sometimes kill animals for doing what their instincts tell them too?

People should take care of their own business, and not be dumb. Who calls the cops on a barking dog, seriously. Part of living in a neighborhood. I highly doubt they do anything but piss and moan when a car alarm goes off all night, even thought hat could actually be someone breaking into a car.
I understand what you're saying, but my neighbors have 4(maybe 5 now?) black labs that they neglect entirely, they feed them, and then leave them in the back yard. the dogs bark at any noise or any movement, the wind, a squirrel, kids walking silently on the sidewalk, basically this amounts to constant barking from early morning to late night, with some thrown in in the middle of the night too. The owners do absolutely nothing to keep them from barking so much. It's annoying as fuck, and they're right next door, its hard to sleep sometimes because of it. People have talked to them and they still won't do anything. I've thought of calling something on them cops or whatever applies, but I don't live there anymore so it's not my problem.

the essay was better, but for those that can take in context, that would have worked... It is always better to understand the whole situation which sometimes cannot even be enough! What you posted/quoted was great.

Thats so sad to hear of the breed discrimination. It happens SO much nowadays and it's becoming common in many cities to ban all "bully breeds". I'm a trainer and have trained TONS of pits, rotts, neo mastiffs, bull mastiffs, american bulldogs etc and have found them to be such eager students! Granted many of them are ingrained to be dog aggressive, it's a part of the breed that needs to be embraced and addressed properly by good owners like yourself. It's sad the type of owners these breeds often attract are the lowlife type whom of which fail to properly socialize and train their dogs. These are the guys that are ALWAYS in the news with dogs that bite- giving the public the idea they are ALL bad. Then there are the nice owners like you who take responsibility of their dog and make a point to make a good example of the breed and catch hell for it. I applaud you for taking on the biased general public with your pup! It's tough, I had a pit for 10 years and people always told me how terrible my breed of dog was. Too bad she was my class demo dog! She also was a certified therapy dog and competed in agility for a number of years!

BTW- Post a pic up of China!

wow, I had no idea you were a trainer! First and foremost, that is AWESOME! yeah, I actually sometimes just wishing certain breeds could just easily go extinct. Now listen, I only consider that because the future does not look good. I'm a realist though. DelAtlanta is a badass example of the person who will make the breed live on! I won't have a house for a while.

I've been drinking so... I have to go deeper now. This particular problem will never go away. People have only gotten progressily fkd up. Dogs will not have a chance soon. Eh... fk it. I'm so disturbed that my China is gone!!!!! FK! she would be right here, right now, asking "what's up", "whatchaposting" on r3v this time!

                              FK! I miss China!!!!!!!!!!
