What I have been up to

Last 4 weeks have been non-stop work. We are remodeling one of our restaurants, formerly "Broadstreet."

It used to be an "uppity" suit and tie place, we toned it down to a more trendy deal now, even has burgers now!

I did all the low volt wiring for the place, took a long ass time.

    Check it out

    Left: Before
    Right: After

Edit: If you are in Rochester MN, hit me up for the r3v discount ;)

That menu looks kick ass. I would love to try that place out. The Guinness Onion Rings w/ black/tan sweet mustard sauce sounds really good for a starter.

          Nice place and good luck

Cameras, Computers (printers, network), RG6 for tv, all the speakers, alarm, and put in pretty much everything that plugs into an outlet lol.

First day on the job I already fucked shit up though lol. I was running a cat5 for a kitchen printer through the drop ceiling, and it caved in on me.

Its a REALLY old building, the kitchen ceiling was a drop down, but not like the tiles. It was plastered over so if you needed to work up there you had to crawl on it.

It was about a 10 foot drop and I landed ass first into my ladder, flipped off it and crushed it, then smoked my head on the floor. Lucky for me there were 2 stainless kitchen sinks kiddie corner to each other, with the corners of them facing each other. There was about a 9" gap between the two corners in to which my head passed right through ;)

Good job on the fall! I'm working at a hospital right now, retrofitting it for networking with Cat6. 4 jacks per drop, 2-3 drops per room, EVERY room in the hospital, including offices and hallways. It's a lot of Cat6, I'll get a few pics.

Anyway, last week, I totally missed the wood plank catwalk while in the attic space above one of the hallways, and stepped right through the false ceiling and went through the drop ceiling. I didn't fall all the way through, I caught myself on one of the mains for the sprinkler system. I didn't really care if I was hurt or not, I was just terrified that I'd dropped a 2' x 3' ceiling tile on some sick old lady's head.

Haha nice, you beat me on that one ;)

I haaattteeee cat6. Its such a bitch to work with. Plus my fingers and blistered and bleeding from putting so many fucking ends on cat5. Its my most despised part of the job.

I didn't actually hit anyone, I was just afraid that I had.

Yeah, terminating Cat5/6 sucks. We did Cat6 networking in this guy's house one time, and I had to punch down 24 cables to a Leviton Cat6 Extreme block. The tips of my fingers were completely calloused and bleeding by the end of the day.
