44lbs more than a new m3, and faster and better looking.

I think a used manual trans IS300 is the best route. Reliability, sharp looks, RWD, straight six with potential... its a winning combo.

I must point out though, this has never been a concern for me, but some of my bigger friends claim the car is too small for them. But if you are coming from an E30, that shouldn't be an issue.

Plus, the chronograph style gauges are cool.

I'll suggest a 4th gen F-body. But i think i'm the only one on here that likes them!

Those IS300's look SO much better in person (they are kinda fugly in pictures) - and they look great in black with some rims.

Thanks guys... and really it just has to have the airbags..thats what we are looking for. I am very interested in the IS300 but how are the parts on them? Do they have a reliability issue?

For 15K (some I have at 15.5) I have (new).
Focus (I hate it...but its actually practical)
                  07' V6 Mustang
09 ES Lancer (16K..alittle out of my price range)
                  SMART CAR!!
                  Cobalt (hate it!)
                  08' VW Rabbit

I would be really interested in the Mini, but I thought those were still REALLY high so I passed.

I really like the IS300's, do they have side airbags? Also, I saw an IS300 wagon and I really liked it.

Thanks again and any more suggestions would be great.

The wagons are pretty rare... I miss my IS, it was a great car!

More suggestions? How's about don't buy a woman's car (Focus, Cobalt, etc.). Out of the ones you listed, I'd go for the VW or Mustang. I'd recommend you don't buy any mistu, but that's just my opinion.

Let me splain it to you. A lexus is300 is a re-badged Toyota Altezza which was only sold in the JDM market. Have you ever heard of Altezza style lights? It was the first car to have those stupid chrome tails that every honda owner must have now.

After the Altezza alot of cars came with OEM "Altezza" Lights

so thats where I got that

Dad's buying it for a grad present so he'll have some say in it but he's all high an mighty on the focus. Do I want it, NO, I just put down what I have looked at...didn't know the other 2 were in my price range.

Explain to him that american cars hold their value about as well as used tissues. Tell him that you might want to sell the car one day and would like to get some money for it. IDK seems like the argument I would use. You need to take desporate measures, you dont want a focus... but hey, I would take a Focus if somebody else is buying.

Congratulations for coming around when those teeny ricers started calling them "altezza's". Unfortunately for you, those style of lights came around long before.

So where did you get that again? In the dumbass kid section of your local WalMart?

And since you said it, what other cars came with factory "Altezza's"? Another Lexus? And to reiterate, no one called them "Altezza" lights other than gay ass civic owners with ebay clear lights on their cars.

hahaha why are you so upset? Because you are wrong on teh internets? Yes the Altezza was the first to have them as an OEM car. They were around before that, but Toyota made them super popular with the Altezza/IS series. Kind of like Tom Cruise wore Ray Ban wayfarers and then everybody wanted them. And why did you need to insult me, couldn't you have merely disagreed?

but since you mention it, here is just one example

                                That is an Eclipse

and that was the first I searched for
