How do you actually become a member? Just take a test and see if you qualify?

You pay a stupid amount of money for a test and a certificate if you pass.

                As for NAMLBA, I wasn't a member until I joined R3V.

I have 3 MENSA shirts. Both of my grandparents were MENSA Members. I have a pretty high IQ but I'm not mensa quality.

What are the benefits of being a member?

I went to the website, and it looks kinda "nerdy" of course. You're invited to lectures, and stuff like that. I DO like the fact that it is non-political, no race/ethnic bias, etc.
Still, the competitor in me wants to try to get in, just to throw their statistics off.
(Career Marine, High School gradumate, barely.)

I took the Mensa Workout, and got 26 out of 30. One I totally screwed up on, the rest, I just couldn't get.
