    getting pwned by spyware

So, I get on my computer today to switch some things up on Myspace, and thats when shit apparently hits the fan...

I start getting mass popups, some that I can close, one that somehow doesnt close without shutting the computer down, and apparently now I dont have "administrative rights" to my task manager. My computer is essentially telling me that I took away my own rights to use ctrl+alt+delete. Im really considering deleting my myspace account, because it seems like Myspace is just a huge breeding ground for this type of shit.

Are there any cheap or free fixes online for this type of spyware? Ive dealt with it before, but this one really seems like a nuisance. Also, for the time being, is there any way to regain my rights to my task manager?

edit: computer is telling me that the spyware is "trojandownloader.xs"

Safemode is basically a stripped down version of windows. It allows you to run windows but only run the necessary files for it to work. Since the virus/spyware, is not necessary, it won't run, allowing you to use a program to get rid of it.

To enter safemode, go to Start, Run. Type in msconfig and hit ok. Then go to the "BOOT.INI" tab and check /SAFEBOOT. Restart your computer and it will boot in safe mode. You might also want to check "NETWORK" after you check /SAFEBOOT if you want to be able to go o the internet.

After you are all done, you'll have to go back into msconfig and un-check /SAFEBOOT for the computer to start normally again.

Once you're in safe mode, there's several things you can download and run:

            Adaware

Spybot S&D and the most recent definitions

Running these one after another should scrub that stuff off your system. Consider investing in an antivirus suite to prevent further attacks, I recommend NOD32.
