    Relocation

I'm getting really tired of southern california and I'm looking to move somewhere else for a couple years.

I want to get out and see more of what the world has to offer.

I've been looking into japan lately and just wondering if anyone has any kind of information about how i should go about it.

    I'm open to suggestions too.

As an American you may just want to stay here in the USA for a bit. As we are not too popular abroad at the moment. Its you life, so go for it, my aunt an uncle lived in Japan for 4 years, have never been back, save for my uncle's business trips.

Depends on the country. To japan, it wont be that big of a deal. China, maybe a bigger deal. In Europe, not so much. Middle east, bigger deal.

To the rest of the world for the most part, its not Americans they are sick of. Its the USA and the leaders. I have several friends living in other countries and family that are officially residents of other countries now. I have no personal experience with this. For instance, I have a good friend that lives in Egypt and goes to the American University. She says the same. Its all in how you carry yourself and if you're polite and quarterly. You know?

Right now the Dollar blows, so keep that in mind wherever you go.
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
        Mark: "You never will."

If you really want to go, though, just go. Sure, it may be a mistake in the long run, but it could also benefit you somehow. Pick your country, do your reasearch on whether or not you can obtain visas/residency permits in your country of choice. Here in the EU, you have to have a legit reason to stay here, e.g. student, (serious) work, etc. Getting these can be hard. Then save up some money--you will need it.

Other than that, you should be okay. So long as you're not a flag-sportin', loud-talkin', brash American guy wearing knee-high white socks, you will be just fine.

Farbin, TN requires a visa to enter its state. Aka a rebel flag on your vehicle. Be prepared.

I would have to disagree... I've met some people traveling who have run into problems in many different countries being american. Personally, I've seen some very vivid artistic work on several occasions spelling out the hate against the U.S. in Thailand, Austria, and Poland.
