You have places in Germany where you could do it. I would love to get a caravan started and spend the whole day doing it. Then we would all meet for a BBQ. -
That ^^ is a very nice gesture.
I'm going to be mailing my grandmother a flag and a nice letter in honor of her first memorial day without my grandpa.Leave a comment:

That would be a good thing to do. BTW if anyone on here knew someone who died in the Vietnam war, I'd be willing to go to the memorial wall in DC and take a picture of their name and "shade" over it with pencil and paper provided that it is within reach and not too high up.Leave a comment:

Memorial Day Invitation
May 26th is Memorial Day and I imagine most of us with be off. I throw this request out there for anyone who has time and a few dollars.
This is what I have been doing and it is something I wish could happen on a national level.
Go to the local Target or dollar store or flea market and pick up a few of the small american flags. Next go to ANY cemetery, park and just walk around until you find the tombstone of a veteran. Place the flag one footstep away from the stone at the head of the grave.
This whole thing probably takes an hour from your day and a few less dollars from the mod sheet. It gives back more than you can imagine.
I found a WWI vet and a new grave of a 19 yo Marine. Neither one had a flag. I bet the parents of the Marine probably couldn't go there yet.
Some cemetaries will give you the flags.
All I am asking is for you guys to consider it. If you have a political viewpoint and don't want to be a a part of this, thats kool. I ask you please don't hate on this postTags: None
