im driving my M2 trying to put a few miles on it to gain some trust in it before i head to north carolina. i have a header and a straight thru glasspack as a temporary exhaust, no plates, no insurance card and no drivers license on me and a cop pulls me over. cop was the nicest guy ever. i got out and he asked my name and if it was my car. i told him i didnt have a license on me, he ran the plate to make sure it listed to the name i gave him and then started asking about the car. we bullshitted for 10 minutes and he told me to have fun with the car. no tickets, no warning, no nothing. for all you baggypants who whine constantly about cops you might consider its your attitude the cops dont like. i did fondle his nutsack a little but i dont think that had any effect. Let's see, you had 4 illegal things on your car? no muffler no plates, no insurance and no license. So yeah, you're lucky and your treated him with respect, but that cop is a retard and frankly should be punished for not bothering to enforce the law.
/end rant

Not to judge, but from what ive heard on this board from you are pretty good, this could have had some postive result.

And I got put in handcuffs and had my car towed for driving w/o insurance and a license. I was nothing but nice and I never did anything but be cooperate with him he was a nice guy, but he also followed the law. Legally that cop should have impounded your car for driving without everything you needed. Seriously you may be lucky, but that cop was not doing his job at all and I wouldn't want a cop like that protecting me. He obviously doesn't care about the laws he is sworn to protect, or he would follow them.

blunt, in all seriousness. Do you think age wasnt a big contributing factor?
Everytime I get pulled over, I feel like I'm stereotyped right off the bat as that punk ass teenager. After a while the cops mellow out, but getting the ticket is always a 50/50. Haven't gotten pulled over in almost a year though, and hopefully it stays that way for a while.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

I imagine he assessed the situation and figured that a warning would be enough to get blunt to comply with the law. Unlike a young kid who maybe would give him a little grief, attitude, or otherwise might not make the same impression - that guy, in the cop's eyes, maybe needs a hefty ticket or even a little 'cuff time.
Is it perhaps the result of stereotypes on the officer's part? Sure - we all have our prejudices, whether we want to admit it or not. But I imagine old guys like Steve tend to come across better than late teens/twenty somethings. And that played into his favor.
So what. No need to get mad because you didn't catch the same break. Sounds to me like that is more the source of your anger than "the cop not doing his job".
