Granted I had a bit of help and access to better equipment so my work has never looked that bad, but I suspect this kid is teaching himself and has no one to teach him, you have to start somewhere.

Damm you guys think if its not perfect then its not good. His work is sloppy and will more than likely break or wont last long in some other way, the point is he took it upon him self to BUILD it. Thats how you learn!!!!!!!! This is something a lot of you guys should try to do before banging on him, your right its not easy.

Well, I started welding handrails and sk8 obstacles at a skate park. I learned from a really cool guy that got me started. That being said, I taught myself of scrap metal. I also got a few books and used the internet to help me out. I know the difference between a butt weld and a lap weld. I also know why you would use them in different applications (great for me). All that being said, no way I would even try that project!!

Even if that kid was just going out to learn this stuff, it is VERY obvious he's rushing his way through and really not giving time and effort. He needs to at least learn his way around a grinder to make it look less half assed... hence the dingus comment.

I see a guy on there has a festiva.... And I recognize the name of the person who he bought it off of from fordfestiva.com. My brother was a mod there, then he sold his boosted festiva for a real car.

Look I agree on all accounts listed above an even that is crap for a 1st try. All I am saying is give the kid some credit for attempting to do it him self and make something with his hands, thats an ambition thats going away from our younger generations. enough said

Edit: I grew up on a farm and have been playing around in the barn since I was 5-6 years old helping my dad, grandpa, and great uncle, build and fix so much shit. I work in construction and have spent many a winter in the shop welding a fabbing shit up. Shit my 1st year out of high school working in the shop in the winter I had to build from scratch a turn table and mount a belly blade on a dump truck for plowing snow. Including all the hydro systems for the up, down and angle of the blade.
