    Newbie here

Hey, I'm Paul. I'm long-time friends with Ben, a regular member and poster on these boards. I don't actually own an e30 at the moment, but I'm looking at getting one in the near future. At the moment I own a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (fun car, soon to be ???rwhp), and a 1997 Civic EX coupe (cheap-ass winter car). Hopefully in a year, I'll sell the civic and get an e30 (that's my plan). Anyways, even though I don't own a BMW, I'm still a BMW fanboy of sorts.

    so....

Thanx mayne. Hopefully within the next year, I'll own a e30. If (and when) I do...I have in my plans the most ungodly engine swap ever!

            SR20DET into an e30. I'd LOVE to do a VG30DETT...but I don't think it would fit. I'd do a 2JZGTE...but it's played out, it's expensive, and it's been done before. I guess SR20 insn't the most ungodly swap ever...but it's certainly both performance-minded, and unorthodox.

If guys can fit a M70 (BMW v12) into a e30 you can fit VG30DETT in it just get creative with that BFH an heat wrench.

meh...it's not the angle of the block that's the problem.

It's more the twin turbos, multiple vacuum lines, and all the associated piping, bracketry and hardware that presents an overall problem.

Like I said get creative with the BFH and heat wrench, and maybe the metal sticker togetherer. You dont have to use the stock configuration for the turbos. move them if need be. Thats the fun of creating a monster.

I don't really have the know-how to do all that. I don't kow if you've ever seen under the hood of a TT Z32....but trust me, it's incredibly cramped...not to mention they're bigger cars than e30s. An e30 with a VG30DETT would be waaay too much of a headache. Besides, SR20DET is a perfect motor for an e30: cheap, lightweight, reliable, responsive, tuner-friendly. Whereas the VG30DETT is : cheap, heavy, fussy, top-end power only, and difficult to tune.

Funny story actually....I created the name pbr87 because of my initials and my birthday. It's also my name on several other forums. However, I also like Pabst Blue Ribbon. I also like e30s (so why should I be ready to be eaten alive???).
