I thought this was a GREAT idea. I've often thought about a discrete way of saying "Thanks" when I see someone in uniform- this works for me.

I'm hardly ever out in town in uniform. The Marine Corps doesn't allow it anymore.
Luckily, my bearing, haircut, and looks bely my career choice.
Being someone on the receiving end of this is really nice.
I feel kinda weird, but I always reply that "It's my pleasure/honor"

I had a guy at the airport give me $20 for a meal. some how he knew I was a Marine Maybe the EAGLE GLOBE AND ANCHOR TATTOO GAVE IT AWAY.
