e36 are a pain in the ass to work on too
just did a clutch for my dad, it could not have gone any worse, and i hate all the sound deadening and heat shielding they have everywhere

Changed the rear brake-lines due to rust, on my 316i ´91 a few weeks ago. Only had to change one, but decided to do them both since it was such a bitch doing them.
Had to remove exhaust, drive shaft, heat shield, AND lower the gastank...
Sure, I like the car. It´s economical, and looks kind of nice, but the way things are going, it´s going for sale some time next summer. No AC on a black car in this summer heat is just stupid.
Another reason is the shape of the interior. This car is a good example to show how the E36 has such a poor quality interior. The headliner is hanging almost everywhere, and the doorcards are almost falling apart. Sometime ago, even the manual sunroof stopped working.
