The body shop told me today it will need a minimum of $7000 to fix and that's not anything else they run into. The tow truck ass hole even winched it up the flat bed by hooking onto the control arm instead of the tow hook. He must have known it was totaled. I did drive it home from around the corner. 156000 miles on it so yeah ins will total it. 75% is the limit with my ins.
The Honda fit is a pretty cool car if you ask me. I'm just ready to move on to something nicer. I looked at the newer body style Camry, not the new one, an the interior was so boring.

It looks really clean. Depending on the miles, the insurance company may want to save it.

A used quarter, decklid (with all accessories), used rear impact absorber and a CAPA rear cover would probably cost around $700-900. Throw in about a sheet metal pull, and probably about 25-30ish hrs of body labor. Looking at around 2700 on a car that might be worth 6000. Just slightly below a 50% loss, most insurance companies dont total untill after 60%. Especially if you are a claimant and LKQ parts are available.

I actually have my eyes set on one of those at some point later this year.

You might want to wait for the '09 to come out, should be this fall. I want my wife's WRX gone, we're 95% decided on a Fit. I hate having to wait, but I'd rather get the new design as opposed to one that's been out since '01 (in the JDM/EDM at least).

It's also supposed to get a lot of revisions as far as options go. I was in the market for a fit a while ago and one of my friends at honda told me to wait until the new ones get here.
