10 June 2008: Zurich, Vienna and Geneva are the best cities in the world as far as quality of live is concerned, says Mercer Consulting in a survey published in June 2008. Vancouver (Canada) and Auckland (New Zealand) are placed fourth and fifth respectively, followed by three German cities: Düsseldorf, Munich and Frankfurt. Tokyo, London and Madrid are all outside the top 25. Overall, Baghdad is, not surprisingly, the lowest ranking city in the survey.

Vancouver CANADA ranked #4 overall...fell one position from 3rd since 2007.

North America
Canadian cities dominate the rankings in the Americas. Vancouver (4) has the best quality of living followed by Toronto (15), Ottawa (19) and Montreal (22). In the US, after Honolulu (28) comes San Francisco (29), Boston (37) and Chicago (44). Washington, DC, ranks 44, above New York (49).

Alright...so...let me understand something...Honolulu(Ranked #28) in Hawaii is the "newest" state joining the union in 1959...MANY Hawaiians still do not consider themselves, as true red blooded "americans".
Moving down 1 spot on the list is SANFRANCISCO(#29) is the US's hotspot for homoerotic happenings.

Boston #37 is the 1st only 'true American' city that hits the list.

Btw, there is a lot more to SF the "homoerotic" happenings. There is a huge music scene which is pretty much the trend setter for all of the west coast.

You know thats funny you say that because I have talked to many Canadians (I live 10 minutes from the border), and I have not heard one good thing about your health care system. From what I understand, it is far from free, there are ridiculous waits, much of the care is substandard and you have little over all choice. Granted, I think everyone should be provided with health insurance but it should be separate from the private health sector.

not one good thing heh? we have a very good health care system..... here in alberta its soon going to be free for everyone in the province.... i havent seen much of a wait either ive had 2 broken legs, surgery and multiple visits to the emergency or doctor... all which ive have waited no more than a booking to get into an operation which was only a week, and broken leg heh they took me right then both times... with not a dollar out of my pocket when i left.
