I don't even like basketball but i wanted LA to smoke Boston for no other reason that KG is the biggest cocksucking piece of shit that i have ever had the privilege of meeting. Generally people in his position are more socially responsible with their actions than he has shown. In some peoples opinions he might not be as bad as some of the sports stars that have been in MN (*cough* randy moss *cough*) but he really is a fucking douchenozzle in my book.

It will be remembered that Kobe went to the Finals, just like Lebron. It'll be remembered, because they will say "Kobe/Lebron never won a title without _____" just like they do about Jordan without pippen. Odom is no pippen, just like Larry Hughes is no PIppen lol

5 Years from now no one will remember Kobe taking this team to the finals. It's all about winning.

I mean nobody talks about LeBron taking the Cav's to the finals anymore and that was last year.

Kobe Bryant is probably the best player in the NBA but he is no Micheal Jordan. No one player can win a team an NBA championship no matter who you are not even Micheal Jordan. You need to have other great players around you. I mean look at LeBron James, He pretty much gets the Cav's into the playoffs single-handedly but they aren't going to win the championship.

Kobe is great but lets remember Jordan would have likely won 7 championships in a row if he didn't "retire" for a year to play baseball.
Yes, but MJ didn't even get to the championship games until Bird and Isiah retired or were old and past their prime.

MJ used to lose to either the Celts or the Pistons every year in the playoffs.
It's not that MJ all of a sudden got much better, it's his competition all of a sudden got much worse.

And they beat the Lakers to win their first title, but by then Kareem was old and Magic had AIDS and was also past his prime.

Sure, MJ won 6 titles, but it wasn't like the 5 titles the Lakers were winning in the 80's against teams like the Celtics, Pistons and Sixers.

Bird, McHale, Parish, Isiah, Dr. J, Moses Malone, etc...were all HOF, formidable opponents.

I don't think that any of the current Lakers with the exception of Kobe are going to the HOF, yet if not for a great comeback by the Celts in Game 4, we'd be going to a Game 7 tomorrow night.

Kobe carried this team all the way to the Finals and as mentioned, were within a blown game away from taking it to a 7th game.

At least MJ had a HOFer in Pippen and a great rebounder in Rodman and some good role players.

5 years from now, no one will be able to name many if any of Kobe's current teammates, which makes Kobe taking his team to the Finals even more impressive.

Big Lakers fan, always have been. Although I haven't paid much attention over the last few years.

But I was happy to see KG get a ring. His work ethic is what brought the Celtics around.

BTW, Kobe has won 3 Titles at an age before MJ won even one.

It took MJ 6 years to win a title, and only did so after Magic, Bird, Isiah, Dr. J, etc...were old or retired.

Kobe collected 3 rings before his 27th birthday. When MJ was 27, he didn't have a single ring.

MJ had a HOF teammate in Scotty Pippen. Anyone on the current Laker roster other then Kobe a HOFer?

And MJ didn't play when teams were allowed to play a Zone Defense like they do nowadays since the rule change.

MJ was great, but really, who did the Bulls beat? Other then MJ, not a lot of talent in the league when he played. Like I said, there was no Bird, Magic, Isiah, Dr. J, etc...in their prime to go against.

In defense of Gasol, he is a PF, not a Center. Bynum will play Center next year when he returns from injury, Gasol at one Forward and Lamar Odom at the other.

Teams won't be able to collapse their D on Kobe all the time with those big 3 guys up front for the Lakers.

And MJ always got a lot of FT's, unlike Kobe does/did. Against the Spurs, Kobe went to the FT line like 5 times in a 4 game stretch and in Game 2 of the finals which the Lakers rallied from 24 pts. down to bring it to a 2 pt. deficit, the Celtics had a 38-10 FT advantage and it was a 36-3 FT advantage at one point late in the game.

If MJ missed a shot, he'd get a whistle and a trip to the stripe. Somehow, the current league MVP isn't afforded the same courtesy.

Kobe will have a fistful of rings by the time he retires. He's 29 years old and has a solid team around him. Not all-stars, but with Bynum back next year, teams won't be able to triple-team him, and the rebounding should improve.

Gasol will be better as a Forward, which is his true position and with Bynum at Center.

It's a bit cliche to compare him to Jordan, but it's done so often because J was the greatest ever, and Kobe is the greatest at the moment. Sadly, he's not the one to take the throne from Jordan. He will need a few more rings, and they would need to be legitimated by winning as the star instead of Shaq's side kick.
    1) Legitimated? Are you fucking kidding me? lol

    2) Kobe averaged 26 PPG in the finals, he was only at about 30 or so in the regular season. They had so many defenses thrown at him, 26 isnt bad.

    3) Gasol is euro. Just like Dirk, you cant trust euro players, theyre soft. Fumar Odom is flaky to say the least.

Kobe cant do it all by himself. I think if Bynum would have been around, it may have went to 7, not to say LA would have won. Hes more hard nosed than waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles ass gasol.

Those soft Euro-weenies on his team aren't much help.

Why does everyone always look at Kobe in Mike's shadow?

I'm pretty pissed they lost, but I'm more pissed because of all the people who jumped on the Celtics band wagon are gonna be all giggity tomorrow.

But seriously though, gotta give it up to the Celtics....I guess the superstitious announcer was right 17 titles on June 17th.
