Ray allen seems like the punk to me. He seemed so smug all post season long. But I guess if youre on the best team in the NBA, you can be. The only thing that pissed me off bout KG were those illegal screens! You cant step into the defender, or throw out an elbow.

I mean nobody talks about LeBron taking the Cav's to the finals anymore and that was last year.
Like I said, MJ had HOFer Scotty Pippen and a good supporting cast, like Dennis Rodman who made the All-Star game every year for his rebounding abilities.
Let me ask you this: Your team is down by 1 pt. and there are 12 seconds left in the game.
You can draw up a play and have any player in the league taking that last, final, game-winning clutch shot.
Who would you want taking that last shot?sigpic

But seriously, no one is denying the fact that Kobe is the best player in the game. That is clear. But would I rather have Kobe now or MJ in his prime? No doubt MJ. Kobe is a better pure shooter than MJ, but he doesn't have the ice-in-the-veins mystique that Jordan did. If it were just about shooting skill, I'd take the best shooter in the game: Ray.
Everyone says how Jordan had such a better supporting cast, but you are all forgetting that Jordan did not have a dominant center. And those three rings Kobe has were not won by him. Shaq brought those championships. Sure, he got the rings younger than MJ, but how many finals MVP awards does he have? ZERO. MJ has 6 rings, 6 Finals MVP's. When the Lakers won those rings, Kobe wasn't even the best player on Shaq's team.
Aside from winning a lot more, MJ was just plain better. A better all around player.
NBA MVP's:
MJ: 5 Kobe: 1
Finals MVP's:
MJ: 6 Kobe: 0
Defensive player of the year/Defensive first teams
MJ: 1/9 Kobe: 0/6
Scoring Titles:
MJ: 10 Kobe: 2
Rookie of the year:
MJ: 1 Kobe: Fail
And most importantly: MJ: 6 rings, Kobe: 3 (as a sidekick)
Yes I realize Kobe has quite a few years left before he'll retire, and some of these numbers will go up. But he's not MJ and never will be. He's even the first person to say that.Last edited by TwoJ's; 06-19-2008, 12:55 AM.

The arguement about MJ in the late 80's is this, Jordan hit his prime from 90- on, sure it was after other's (Laker, Celtic, Piston players) prime but Jordan hit his prime after Pippen had came along after being drafted in 87 and Phil Jackson took over in 89. You can't penalize the statement of Jordan hitting his prime after other's did because he's younger than them, that's what happens. Watch the Jordan commercial about other's complaining and not being good enough and not trying. His point is spot on, no one has stepped up he didn't set bar too high. That man aside from Tiger Woods is the single biggest competitor and dominating force in past twenty years of sports. Kobe, is a great player there's no doubt about him, but he also is the world's biggest turd sandwich.1985 BMW 325e

I would just like to point out that the finals MVP and the man that gave Kobe fits during the series, Paul Pierce, was a Kansas Jayhawk.
I enjoyed watching that series. The last game was a letdown since it wasnt much of a game but Boston was jumping.
