Homme has always been that way. We used to go to adventure keggers with them playing via generators deep in the southern california deserts. He REALLY did deal with that shit himself back when.

We're from the same hometown, so who wants to touch me now?

Homme was big into desert rock. Awesome you were there, I've heard a lot about that scene.

Yeah, them and all the assorted bands, Slo Burn, Fu Manchu, Brandt Bjork. It was a great time. Then I evolved into three day lunar desert celebrations, Sunrises in Joshua Tree National Park are like those orb songs about little fluffy clouds. Being part of an emerging music scene twice in my life was rather rewarding. Groups I saw with twenty to a hundred spectators are now packing 20k+ venues.

You know their album "Welcome to Sky Valley"? That's the place where on a rainy day you can watch the meth labs steam from 5 miles away. Thought you'd be interested in that tidbit.
