    My Paypal was hacked into...

Somehow someone got into my paypal IN EUROPE and changed my password. they also paid for a few things (in euros) using my account.

My paypal account has been very active right now since I started parting my car out, and I contacted paypal right away when I saw this suspicious activity. They had to close my account to me and they just restored access right now.

This means for the past few days I haven't been able to ship parts to people because I couldn't verify payment and their shipping information wasn't available. I'm sorry for an inconvenience this has caused any of you, parts were shipped first thing this morning.

Paypal has also refunded me about 10 euros too.

I just wanted to let you all know, because I am usually very on point about matters such as these.

    thanks,

    Andy

Is your paypal password the same as your email address password?

That makes it very easy to hack into a paypal account. It's alot easier to hack into an email account (google, hotmail...etc) to get their password than it is to hack into paypal to get the password, so most hackers bank on the fact that your email password associated with your paypal account has the same password.

Someone hacked into my paypal and made a $627 purchase to tiger direct computer parts... it was all cleared up later on, but it sucked. I'm sorry dude.

Should have blamed it on the wife before she found it.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Props to you Andy for taking control of this before it got out of hand.

Thing is, this is how stuff SHOULD be.......if something like this happens, people should man up and explain the situation BEFORE the shit hits the fan. No excuses, no BS, just tell it like it is, and make sure everyone involved knows what's going on.

It's a combination of communication and common sense- but there seems to be a big deficiency of both on the interwebz.
