It has to do with Rosie O'Donnell and spoons and eating herself to death.
Something along the lines of "If guns cause murder, then spoons cause Rosie O to be fat and to eventually die from obesity related causes" in other words, spoons cause death if you're using gun-grabber logic.
Sorry if I didn't phrase it correctly, but that's the general idea.sigpic

The whole gun show background check is bullshit. criminals don't go to gun shows and buy guns. At most it's less than a fraction of 1% according to the study i found. There's cops there. And rednecks. Which are scarier ;)
Gun control isn't so much about guns as it is control.
Ms. Coulter is an amazing American.
In every "civilized" nation where gun control has been implemented, violent crime has skyrocketed, including assaults with swords, knives, etc. And yes, still crimes with guns. Look at Australia, England, and Japan (where one old boy recently took a fucking sword and cut up a bunch of people, and a mayor was executed in broad daylight).
Why shouldn't honest people be allowed to carry guns? The bad guys already do.I'd rather have Sarah Palin 1 hearbeat away from the Presidency than Nancy Pelosi 2 heartbeats away.

"Bad Guys" don't go to a store and buy them, they don't do background checks. If you out right "ban" all guns in the US I guarantee criminals will still have them.Rollin' with a Geistkuchen

There's no way to track it. As if they have an even close statistic to show what guns come from gun shows.
Even if one person dies from the sale of a gun from a gun show people shouldn't be able to walk out of a gun show without a background check.
Regardless of statistic, gun shows is an option for criminals to get guns.
Coulter is an amazing American??Have you even heard her talk? She's a fucking psycho.
No one said honest people shouldn't be able to carry guns.

The problem is (as with so many other problems in the US) is both sides are too extreme one way or the other. Most answers are right between rightist and leftist.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

LMFAO, you can't be that dense. Cops don't care where they got the weapon, unless they find out it was stolen from a person with the legal right to have it.
Originally posted by FlyingPrick View PostStop with the "even if one person..." crap. My question is, where was that person's gun? what you don't seem to understand is, criminals don't have money to buy guns. they steal them. And if they do buy them, they're not going to pay the fair market value for them (i.e. gun show). they're going to get them on the black market. Ever hear the phrase, "hotter than a $2 pistol?" George Jones, I believe.

Where did the Columbine jerk offs get their guns? Or that boy in Arkansas? Clue? They didn't buy them from a gun store. I don't have the info for the adult shootings in recent memory, but I'd imagine if they did buy their guns at a gun store, it would have been all over the news. Which it wasn't.
Why do I need to name another one? There is no mental health box....how would the FBI know the guy is seeing a Psychiatrist?
No they got them from a gun show. You really didn't know that? You brought it up not me...
Nope criminals don't buy guys......lol
In the months prior to the attacks, Harris and Klebold acquired two 9 mm firearms and two 12-gauge shotguns. A rifle and the two shotguns were bought in what was perhaps a straw purchase in December, 1998 by a friend, Robyn Anderson, who had purchased the shotguns at the Tanner Gun Show in December, in private sales from individual(s). Harris and Klebold later bought a handgun from a friend, Mark Manes for $500. Manes was jailed after the massacre for selling a handgun to a minor, as was Philip Duran, who had introduced the duo to Manes.

Joshh, on the background paperwork there is a box that you must check saying you have no mental illness. As well as you are not addicted to drugs including marijuana.
And on the point about bad guys buying guns and steeling guns. They do both. The big time drug guys buy guns that are the more military style types because its a status symbol. They also need the firepower to combat police. Miami in the 70's/80's proved that. The "Heat" style shoot out in CA back in the 90's for something more current. While the little crack seller or petty thief probably acquired his/hers from a burglary of some sorts.
The guns used in most of the school shooting were acquired from their parents that did not property secure their weapons while they were at work. The VA Tech shooting, the guns were not acquired from a gun show but a local gun store. The owner of that store is a member of AR15.com and had posted the story right after the BAFTE came in asking question on the sale of the P22 used.
There are many cases that can be used on why to have gun control and why our freedom depends on the freedom of owning personal firearms. I for one feel the rules are to strict now. I am all for a cool down period when buying firearms and a background check is proper. But what says that I do not snap one day and with my firearms become another crazed shooter? I feel its all about proper training and respect of what a firearm can do. I feel one must go though proper training before one could own a firearm. Not the run of the mill target practice from a local gun shop, but military training or a civilian equivalent to.
Its going to be one of those things that will always be debated.Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs!

hey i was listening to talk radio 3 or 4 days ago and some minnesota lawyer was on and said in minnesota you can walk down the street with a gun on your person if it is fully exposed and holstered. he said very few minnesotans know this fact. he was a lobbyist for the gun cause and sounded legit. perhaps he meant if you have a CCW permit but that was never brought up. he also said if there is a sign posted "no guns" you couldnt enter duh. but im wondering if we as minnesotans can carry a weapon without a CCW. not that i would but im curious

We already know they do both. But they don't try to go steal guns. Usually they do it because the guns are accessible wherever they took them from.
It's much much easier to buy one.
What I should have said was there is no box for your Psychiatrist to check. It's pointless. No ones a criminal, no ones on drugs, no ones psycho. If you allow them to check the box.
You have the gun freaks who think you should be able to get a gun anywhere and any type of "control" is bad control. Even if it keeps criminals from getting the guns.
Then you have the leftist pigs who think anyone (other than our criminal police) with a gun is a bad thing.
There are very few restrictions for honest citizens to get handguns. How is that too strict? 15 day waiting period....who cares? It doesn't change your right to own one.
Banning assault rifles is ridiculous. As if a hand gun can't kill. Very few assault rifles are used in violent crimes compared to hand guns. Making that a pointless argument.
So both left and right are off the mark.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
