Who has been? Do they schedule tours or do you just walk in, look at the two old cars they have there, and then get shuffled the fuck off?

I was there for M-day back in 1998, it was an awesome 'private' event for M owners so it was catered and had special tours, etc.

I would imagine that BMWUSA would have info online for public tours and such.

Either way I recommend it, it is a very impressive facility and the museum is great.

when i visited they ran 2 hour schedules. so the longest you had to wait to go on the tour was 2 hours. id call and make an appointment if i were you so you know the start times. its a worthwhile tour

We are trying to do 4ngiefest there next year. we would have done it this year but the were rolling out the new x6 so there were no event openings. from what Kathy at BMW said with the private booking of the plant you get the tour of the facilities and use of the z4 road coarse. also the museum. never been inside my self but Angie an I are going up to meet the plant mgr in august. Hope we can work it out for 4ngiefest 09.

I wont really need the test track unless I want to tool around in the rental. I was just hoping to get inside and see the factory and any of the interesting cars they might have littered the lobby with.

-I think the tours are weekdays only, and they are walk-in. there is a small, free museum beside the factory with some old BMWs and stuff: Inettas, 2002s, a 745h, m3 race car, 88 m6, a 1950ish 506 sedan and 507 roadster, iirc an m1 also. cool stuff.

Weekdays only isnt bad, I could just pop out early one day.

I didnt see anything online directly so I popped them an email so hopefully I will get a response in a month or so. If they are walk ins I just need to know hours.
