Convince me NOT to buy a Foxbody GT and to buy a BMW

I am about to sell my beater POS Maxima. And I am looking to get a new daily driver.
    Choices:
87-91 Mustang GT must be 5 speed, pref convertible
    E34, must be 535i/5 or 530i/5 I did find a 540iA for 2100 but I'm not sure if I could deal with automatic. http://nh.craigslist.org/car/759619024.html
E36, yea yea I know but I'm going to college and need something that requires a little less maintnence, must be 325iS/5.

well, at that price..... Get the mustang.

Most of us here got our e30's cheap but put a whole lot of love into them. You're going to school, so you got this options:

      1. BMW that runs with broken everything else, and nurse it for 4 years.
      2. buy a mustang, take care of your education, so one day you can afford a nice BMW

i am not trying to be mean at all, just making sure you understand the power of BMW to make you an unwilling/under financed enthusiast.

      Good luck with your decision.

I've already had a BMW an E30 at that, 88 325iC with a hard top only reason I sold it was cause it was auto.

keep the maxima until it dies, finish your education, get a job, do work, make money, then buy the nice car you can actually afford.

if you can afford it now, i say mustang because they get shitty gas mileage...

Why would you want a vanilla ice car? Or hang out the mustang crowd?

nothing wrong with a fox body, i had one, and loved it. i mean i didn't hang out with mustang people, or go to meets or anything like that, i just owned it to have a car. it was a 91 LX convertible special edition, and i picked her up or 2k. Never had a problem with the motor or trans( borg warner t-5 trannies are solid). Got terrible gas mileage, but it was fun to drive. I will probably never own one again, but it was a good little beater for the 3 yrs i had her. But i wouldn't get a GT, those are hella ugly, i would get a notchback, or at least an LX coupe, not as ugly as a GT. The key thing here is, if you want something thats cheap and you know its cheap and you will dump in a couple of years, get the 5.0, if you want something thats cheap and you want to take care of and mod over time, get a BMW.

I would say keep the maxima as long as long as its been reliable and cheap.

But I always have loved the sound of a 5.0, one of my favorite V8 sounds.

Automagic notch with the 4 banger, 14 inch wheels & luggage rack.

Really the only way to roll.

So, just exactly why the fuck would we "talk you out of a Fox body"?

                              1. We really do not give a shit
                              2. Fox bodies can be great cars if you like 1940 suspension design
                              3. If you aren't convinced, it is better that you buy something else
                              4. This leaves more for us, and none for you, and E30s rock you face off
                              5. Did I mention the whole "do not give a shit" thing already?
                              6. We really do not give a shit.

So, right there is like 22 reasons why YOU should go out and buy an E30 and put a 5.0 with a tremec in your fucking car. Then when you wrap it around a tree, you will take out a Mustang AND an E30, thereby making both more rare and valuable.

So, go get with the torch and sawzall, fuckwheat.

                              Closing SOON!
