Selling a car out of state

Hey guys, I'm having a lot of out of state interest in the 2002. Obviously the new owner would have to arrange the shipping on his or her own but what is the best way to take payment? I would prefer not to go through Paypal because of the fees. Are there any other good ways to receive a safe payment? Should I have the deposit directly made in my account or what? Maybe a cashier's check from my bank? Never done this before! Hopefully it will sell locally but I'm getting a ton of interest elsewhere. Thanks guys.

Well I have had 3 or 4 people on the east coast express interest. Thats not really one of those meet half way kind of deals.

            Direct wire deposit

            Ryan:
When I sold my m3, I had the buyer send a wire deposit directly to my bank, I then transfered into my savings account.
The bank takes care of all the transaction, sometimes it costs about 10.00
            hope that helps,
            jm

+1, ship the car when your bank gives the thumbs up.

If that car ends up in NJ/NY/CT/PA you better tell the owner to install and alarm.

when I sold my 'vert, I had a friend (that I trust more than most people) handle my title, and the money for my car. He handed over my title after the guy handed him the money, then deposited the money in the bank for me. I gave him a bit of the cash for his trouble (he's storing a bunch of stuff for me, sold my car safely, and removed tags/base stickers, etc.)

But, that doesn't really help you much I guess
