    So I found my steelies...

Its the family beater toyota tercel.
    original wheel tire: 13"x 4.5" 155/80/r13 centerbore=54.1 offset 38
    new wheel tire: 14" 185/70/r14 offset 35

It does rub in the back and there's a little shake in the back above 70mph
They are probably coming off this week end because those tires will kill
the fuel efficiency and does look pretty retarded/riced. It already looked like a bumper car with the plastic bumpers on but now it looks just like a toy.
    miata.net tire calculator says:
speedometer reading is 1.3% too fast
so odo speedo at 60 means 59.2

the tires actually look smaller than reality on the pic.
    That kinda made my day
    comments?

tires were shot on the other set, the stock one (dangerous when
it was raining). The steelies from the 318 have 4 seasons tire with
more than half threads left. Those rims won't fit my car when the new suspensions will be installed. Look at it as a kind of recycling. and the
car has been hit on the front left corner so it already looks really ghetto.
And it the beater so I don't care the look. As long as it works. Function>look

But like you said, it doesn't work. Why don't you just buy some new tires. What are they, like $50 a tire for the stock wheels?

              should improve fuel effecientcy

bigger rolling diameter = higher effective gear ratio

bigger rolling diameter also = more rotating mass for that weak ass engine to push.
