      Thats what I was thinking but I thought the lag time was longer than that which would make it harder. I would rather believe they left Bob behind though.

        At an average distance of 240,000 miles from Earth, light travelling at 186,000 miles per second would take roughly 1.29 seconds to make the trip.

          I'm not a huge conspiracy theorist or anything, but I guess when it comes to this topic I think of two things:

          1 - it's rediculous to think that in the vast expanse of the universe we are the only intelligent life forms out there capable of communicating, building a society, etc.

          2 - based on that, it's entirely possible that something not of this world has "visited" or otherwise seen/contacted us.

          It's funny someone posted this as I read an article the other day somewhere that talked about the non-linear progression of our techonology over the last hundred years or so and speculation as to why/how/etc that type of exponential increase (compared to previous centuries) was able to take place.
