That actually has an interesting story behind it. See it takes about 1.5 seconds for a radio signal from earth to reach the moon. That camera was remote controlled from the earth, and the "camera man" sitting at a console, had to time the shot 1.5 seconds in advance - it was one of the last missions, and it involved a bit of luck to get that shot - all the ones before it were a locked down shot iirc.Comment

At an average distance of 240,000 miles from Earth, light travelling at 186,000 miles per second would take roughly 1.29 seconds to make the trip.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment

I'm not a huge conspiracy theorist or anything, but I guess when it comes to this topic I think of two things:
1 - it's rediculous to think that in the vast expanse of the universe we are the only intelligent life forms out there capable of communicating, building a society, etc.
2 - based on that, it's entirely possible that something not of this world has "visited" or otherwise seen/contacted us.
It's funny someone posted this as I read an article the other day somewhere that talked about the non-linear progression of our techonology over the last hundred years or so and speculation as to why/how/etc that type of exponential increase (compared to previous centuries) was able to take place.PNW Crew
