while i agree that this kid needs some stern and solid discipline, you guys should know that some of the rules that are in place are there because they are needed to keep kids safe. yeas i don't think its a crime to give your kid a slap on the ass or the back of the head, but i know a few kids who got a lot worse then that and never did anything to deserve it. beat down with a hockey stick, say no more say no more.

VERY much true. I know from experience. I had a stepdad once that never really did much in my direction, but I watched him go to town on my stepbrother/his son a few times, in a manner that was much more extreme than what was called for. There's a big difference between swatting your kid across the ass and beating the ever loving shit out of them.
