35 is close to 32, like I said, around 35. Extended warranty is 60k miles, and you can get some warranties for a little more that cover up to 100k. With any of the 3, you'll be fine. Id just get whatever you think looks best, since theyre all probably 30-35 MPG.Originally posted by blunti would jerk larry king off while tonging jflips ass if h0lmes would blow his head offComment

Short answer: because I can. If you look at past posts I've always made the same depreciation arguments. However, I've had a few bad experiences with cash cars. 15k is reasonable for me. I'll probably put half down and then let my $.60 per mile make my payments and insurance."We praise or find fault, depending on which of the two provides more opportunity for our powers of judgement to shine."Comment

FWIW, a 3-4 year old Civic would get right around the mileage you're looking for, be bulletproof as hell, and if you bought an off-lease one would likely come with some sort of 100k warranty. I see the lure of buying brand new, but having done it a few times in my life I can tell you I'd rather have the extra cash than that new car smell.
Good luck!

E34.
Way more class than any 'yota could ever dream of.
$3500 will get you a nice one. $1500 in mods, $500 in maintenance...$10K in gas will last quite a while.Comment

No. Then I will want to mod it/make it prettier. Between the e30, the 1600 and all my other fucking hobbies I have too many projects going on - I don't need another one. I need a commuter. Something I don't have to care/worry about. I'm not opposed to finding a nice certified pre owned car for the right price so long as it has a warranty.Last edited by Turf1600; 07-28-2008, 03:17 PM."We praise or find fault, depending on which of the two provides more opportunity for our powers of judgement to shine."Comment

If diesel wasn't so expensive, that would be a great idea. I suppose you are referring to Mk4.- Trey

Honda Fit.
Car magazines rave about them, they get good mileage and look pretty sweet. K20's go in too, and all the other mods. But fits just look like a great commuter. You should give it a test drive at least.
I've heard the tranny in smarts is kinda bad, and mercedes makes 'em so I'd imagine reliability would be worse than the fit and repairs would cost more. Plus they cost more (?) and have no space.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.
