the bike wreck thread

Been in school all summer, so I have not been able to ride much... Got two weeks off before Fall semester starts, so I strapped on the riding gear and did my normal Thursday night ride.

80% of the way through the guy in front of me drops his water bottle. We were just coasting waiting on some others to catch up, so my guard was down. I glanced back to see that no one hit the water bottle... as I turn back the guy in front of me brakes hard to get his water bottle... we did not make it much further.

My front wheel hit his rear derailer... four spokes break and my wheel jambs against the brakes locking the front wheel. Needless to say I went down... on my head! My helmet did its thing, but my head kinda hurts and I have a nice bruise on my forehead. The zipper of my jersey ground into my chest and the pavement leaving a nice scrape on my right chest and nipple. about three layers of my shoulder are still on the pavement as well as some from my leg and butt... my left hand hurts like a bitch and this weird bump has shown up on my left shin.

I just wanted to go for a ride, man, and I got fucked up. Wear a helmet and gloves if you even look at a bike; glad I was

when I first learned how to ride a bike I didn't know how to turn yet. I rode straight into my mailbox which was made of solid bricks. It pretty much sucked.

Another time I slammed on the front brakes and flew over the handle bars. It sucked, I had my nerf gun in the cup holder and everything. :-(
